System, method and apparatus for authentication of nodes in an Ad Hoc network
Abstract:
A method and apparatus are provided for authenticating a first node M 220M in an ad hoc network 200. Node I 220I can receive a request from node M 220M to join the ad hoc network 200. This request includes, among other things, a biometric input associated with a first user of the node M 220M. Before the node M 220M is permitted to join the ad-hoc network, Node I 220I can authenticate the first user based on the biometric input by determining whether the biometric input matches biometric codes stored in Node I 220I.read more

Automated Device Provisioning and Activation
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors propose a method comprising providing a plurality of links to end-user devices communicatively coupled to a network system, a particular link of the plurality supporting control-plane communications between the network system and a particular user over one or more wireless access networks, the message comprising payload for delivery to the particular user and an identifier identifying a particular device agent on the particular enduser device.

Device-Assisted Services for Protecting Network Capacity
TL;DR: In this article, a device assisted service (DAS) for protecting network capacity is provided, which includes monitoring a network service usage activity of the communications device in network communication and classifying the network service activity for differential network access control for protecting the network capacity.
Patent
System and Method for Providing User Notifications
TL;DR: In this article, an end user device associated with a service plan having a limit on usage of a network service, the method comprising storing one or more notification actions corresponding to one-or more notification requests; performing a device action that reflects a past or intended use of the network service; receiving one of the one or multiple notification requests from a network element in response to the device action; performing one of several notification actions, the notification action causing the user device to retrieve at least a portion of a notification message associated with the status of the use.
Patent
Universal secure registry
TL;DR: A secure registry system and method for the use thereof are provided which permits secure access to a database containing selected data on a plurality of entities, at least portions of which database has restricted access.

Method of using fingerprints to authenticate wireless communications
TL;DR: In this paper, a system and a method employing a user's fingerprint to authenticate a wireless communication is presented, where the user's personal fingerprint is employed as the secret key in the context of a modified "challenge-response" scenario.
Patent
Software method for maintaining connectivity between applications during communications by mobile computer terminals operable in wireless networks
TL;DR: In this paper, a method of maintaining connectivity and synchronization of data from a first application resident in a first mobile computer to a second application resident on a second computer was proposed, where the data is transmitted over a data communications network including a plurality of stationary access points.
Patent
Method for secure key management using a biometric
TL;DR: In this paper, a secure method for consistently reproducing a digital key using a biometric, such as a fingerprint, is described, where the digital key is linked to the biometric only through a secure block of data, known as the protected filter.

Biometric authentication system and method
TL;DR: In this paper, a plurality of nodes in a networked architecture, the nodes being adapted to securely communicate with one another, are adapted to store a biometric identifier uniquely associated with a user, the stored identifier being used to authenticate the identity of a subsequently provided biometric sample at another of the nodes in the network.

Secure detection network system
TL;DR: A secure detection network system includes plurality of remote nodes, each remote node comprising a set of detectors disposed to detect the presence of an illegal asset within a shipping container; at least one server node configured to initialize, install, and authenticate each node in the plurality of Remote Nodes, including delivering to each Remote Node an agent module, said agent module for each remote Node specific configuration file defining the set of nodes with which the remote node can communicate as discussed by the authors.
