TLDR
A number of known and deployed techniques to simplify a TCP stack as well as corresponding tradeoffs are explained to help embedded developers with decisions on which TCP features to use.Abstract:
This document provides guidance on how to implement and use the
Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) in Constrained-Node Networks
(CNNs), which are a characterstic of the Internet of Things (IoT).
Such environments require a lightweight TCP implementation and may not
make use of optional functionality. This document explains a number of
known and deployed techniques to simplify a TCP stack as well as
corresponding tradeoffs. The objective is to help embedded developers
with decisions on which TCP features to use.read more

IoT or NoT: Identifying IoT Devices in a Short Time Scale
TL;DR: This paper proposes different classifiers that identify a device as IoT or non-IoT, in a short time scale, and with high accuracy, and presents a unified classifier that leverages the advantages of the other two classifiers.

Improving Congestion Control of TCP for Constrained IoT Networks.
TL;DR: A new scheme for managing the retransmission timer is proposed which adopts the notion of weak RTT estimation of CoCoA, exponential backoffs with variable limits, and dithering, and shows results that reduce retransmissions while enhancing throughput and fairness when an RDC (radio duty cycling) mechanism is used.

IoT or NoT: Identifying IoT Devices in a ShortTime Scale
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed different classifiers that identify a device as IoT or non-IoT, in a short time scale, and with high accuracy, using machine learning techniques on a seen dataset and were tested on an unseen (test) dataset.
