The anodic behavior of amorphous Ni-19P alloys in different amorphous states

TLDR
In this article, an amorphous Ni-19P alloy prepared by rapid quenching of white heat melt showed a higher anodic dissolution current density in 1 N HCl in comparison with the same amorphized alloy prepared with red heat melt, showing that the difference in anodic behavior between these two as-quenched specimens seems due to the differences in the amounts of quenched-in defects.

Evaluation of the corrosion resistance of electroless Ni-P and Ni-P composite coatings by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy

TL;DR: In this paper, the same fundamental reaction is occurring on all the coatings of the present study but over a different effective area in each case, which can be attributed to the decrease in the effective metallic area prone to corrosion.

An investigation on effects of heat treatment on corrosion properties of Ni–P electroless nano-coatings

TL;DR: In this article, X-ray diffraction technique (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), potentiodynamic polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) were utilized to study prior and post-deposition vacuum heat treatment effects on corrosion resistance together with the physical properties of the applied coatings.
Journal ArticleDOI

The corrosion resistance of electroless deposited nano-crystalline Ni–P alloys

TL;DR: In this paper, the anodic polarization curves of electroless Ni-P alloys showed a current plateau at potentials E 2 during prolonged immersion in near neutral solutions open to air and showed a steady decrease of the current density following a power law with exponent −05.

Electrodeposition of alloys of phosphorus with nickel or cobalt

TL;DR: Alloys containing nickel or cobalt and as many as 15 perceni of phosphorus have been electrodeposited in solutions containing phosphites as mentioned in this paper, but these alloys are hard and may be further hardened by heat-treating at 4000 C.

An XPS Investigation into the Passivity of an Amorphous Ni‐20P Alloy

TL;DR: In this paper, a chemical passivation process is proposed that is controlled by the formation and surface retention of hypophosphite anion, which acts as a barrier between the alloy and the electrolyte.

Characteristics of passivity of extremely corrosion-resistant amorphous iron alloys

TL;DR: In this article, the amorphous FeCrPC alloy was compared with the crystallized alloy having the same composition in potentiodynamic polarization curves and with an 18Cr8Ni stainless steel in current decay after abrading the specimens under anodic polarization.
