Review Article: The Quest for an Adequate Theory of Criminal Justice
TL;DR: There has been a considerable resurgence of interest in theorising about criminal law and the criminal justice system as mentioned in this paper, however, this activity is adrnittedly still quite peripheral to the mainstream of criminological practitioners although it does suggest an increasing awareness that the law is in a state of crisis and that this is especially so in the case of the criminal law.
Use of The Analysis of Variance Model for Investigating Disposition Decisions of Judges and Probation Officers
TL;DR: Ryerson et al. as discussed by the authors used the Analysis of Variance model to investigate differential disposition decisions from least restrictive to most restrictive court placement based on juvenile and family characteristics and found that a linear model more than adequately accounts for the variability of the subjects responses.
