‘Making do’, understanding the economic ‘possible’: social positioning, money and mother’s economic habitus in the school context

TL;DR: The authors study how working-class mothers manage money, daily life, their children's education, and internalize a particularistic economic position and find that making do refers not only to stretching the economic but also to mental dispositions that emerge out of negotiating the economic, not as a universe of possibles but rather impassable barriers.
