Dissertation
Observing neutron stars at the magnetic extremes.
TL;DR: In this article, the authors explored fundamental physics with compact stars with the aim of exploring fundamental physics in the field of astronomy and space physics with Compact Star Networks (NewCompStar).
Journal ArticleDOI
Discovery of a radio emitting neutron star with an ultra-long spin period of 76 seconds
M. Caleb,Ian Heywood,Kaustubh Rajwade,Mateusz Malenta,Benjamin Willem Stappers,Ewan Barr,Weiwei Chen,Vincent Morello,S. Sanidas,J. van den Eijnden,Michael Kramer,David A. H. Buckley,Jacob Brink,Sara Motta,Patrick A. Woudt,Patrick Weltevrede,Fabian Jankowski,Mayuresh Surnis,S. P. Buchner,Mechiel Christiaan Bezuidenhout,Laura Driessen,Rob Fender +21 more
TL;DR: In this article , the authors presented the discovery of an ultra-long period radio-emitting neutron star, PSR J0901-4046, with spin properties distinct from the known spin and magnetic-decay powered neutron stars.
Journal ArticleDOI
On the origin of the drifting subpulses in radio pulsars
TL;DR: In this paper, a model for the radio emission of pulsars with well organized drifting subpulses is presented, where the drift waves are generated at shorter wavelengths and their nonlinear evolution favours accumulation in a specific azimuthal eigenmode with an integral number of nodes encircling the magnetic pole.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Магнітні дослідження та структура рову Жаботинського поселення раннього залізного віку
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors propose a new approach to deal with the problem of gender discrimination in the context of sexual harassment in the medical field, which they call gender-based sexual harassment.
Journal ArticleDOI
Competing Drifting Radio Subpulses in PSR B0031-07
M. Vivekanand,Bhal Chandra Joshi +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors show that the pair of drifting subpulses of the radio pulsar PSR B0031-07 appear to be well separated from each other on the average, overlapping at less than one third of the peak energy.

High Energy Astrophysics
TL;DR: In this article, the authors introduce high energy astrophysics in the context of galaxies and the origin of cosmic rays in our galaxy, as well as the acceleration of high energy particles in magnetic fields.
Journal ArticleDOI
Formation and evolution of binary and millisecond radio pulsars
TL;DR: In this article, the formation processes of neutron stars in interacting binaries, and the subsequent evolution of such systems are discussed, as well as the effect of various types of accretion (from a stellar wind and by Roche-lobe overflow) on the spin evolution of accreting magnetized neutron stars.
Journal ArticleDOI
Millisecond pulsars with extremely strong magnetic fields as a cosmological source of γ-ray bursts
TL;DR: In this article, a new model for γ-ray bursts at cosmological distances was proposed, based on the formation of rapidly rotating neutron stars with surface magnetic fields of the order of 1015.
Journal ArticleDOI
Measurement of gravitational acceleration by dropping atoms
TL;DR: In this article, an atom interferometer based on a fountain of laser-cooled atoms was used to measure the acceleration of gravity, achieving an absolute uncertainty of Δg/g ≈ 3 × 10−9.
Journal ArticleDOI
Theory of pulsar magnetospheres
TL;DR: In this article, a wide range of fundamental physical problems directly related to how pulsars function are discussed, some of which are independent of the specific pulsar mechanism and others relate directly to the physics of the pulsar and already shed some light on the properties of matter at high density and in strong magnetic fields.
