Observing the effect of the treatment of patients with chronic renal failure and uraemia with ketosterie together with a medicated foot bath Methods: 66 patients with chronic renalfailure were studied 36were treated with ketosteril together with medicated foot bath (treatmentgroup),the other 30 were treated with ketosteril only (control group) Serum creatinine (Scr),bloodurea nitrogen(BUN )and clearance of creatinine (Ccr)were measured in both groups and comparedbefore and after the treatment Results: after the treatment,the treatment groups showed significantly decreased Scr and BUN, the control group showed significantly decreased BUN The decreased of Scr and BUN wes more remakable in the treatment group then in the control groupConclusion: ketosteril markedly decreased BUN in uraemia and chronic renal failure patients,thetherapeutic effect of ketosteril together with medicated foot bath with TCM was much better thenthat of ketosteril onlyread more
