Abstract
Technical services in academic libraries face tremendous challenges to transform and move to the next generation of operations and services. Following an overview of the transformational changes affecting library technical services and the strategic shifts that are currently happening, in this article the author discusses the transformational efforts of Technical Services at the University of Nevada, Reno Libraries and concludes with lessons learned and suggestions for other libraries interested in exploring a transformation of their technical services.
