Abstract
Multiprocessors allow transient problems to be solved faster than before. An appropriate computer architecture is described and new algorithms, suitable for such a structure, are presented. When true parallel programs are written according to the computer modes of operation, a high efficiency is achieved.

Parallel processing for power system analysis using band matrix

TL;DR: To apply this parallel-processing scheme using a band matrix to real systems, the reduced bandwidths of the matrices of several test power systems are calculated to estimate the number of processors required.

Space-phasors for dynamic minimum-time computing and digital real-time three-phase display

TL;DR: In this article, a digital real-time interface for transformation of original RST-quantities to Space-Phasor components was developed, which enables to measure the momentary frequency of the rotating field as well as an attached calculator performes the high sensitive measurement of the desired symmetrical and harmonic component.

Parallel computer simulation of autotransformer-fed AC traction networks

TL;DR: In this article, the authors use a parallel computer to simulate voltages along an autotransformer-fed AC railway, based on the solution of algebraic equations for a single train, with a historical record of train voltage as the train moves along the section.

Power System Simulation by Parallel Computation

TL;DR: The results show that considerable simulation speed-up can be obtained when parallel processing is employed, and theCCM and appropriate numerical methods are established as a conceptual basis for the parallel simulation of small power networks and individual power system components.

On-line, parallel short-circuit calculations

TL;DR: In this paper, it is suggested that instead of scheduling faultcalculations offline, one-by-one, they should be submitted as a basic case followed by a number of slightly changed cases.

Models for MIMD Machines

TL;DR: Two simple models for estimating the processing times of algorithms run on MIMD machines are described, developed from very elementary queueing concepts, which require far less effort than either benchmarking or detailed simulations.
