Abstract
An uninterruptible power supply, with passing neutral, comprises a twin step-up chopper whose input is connected to a battery and to a rectifier circuit connected to the mains power system. The twin step-up chopper comprises a positive step-up chopper supplying a first output voltage between a positive DC output and neutral, and a negative step-up chopper supplying a second output voltage between a negative DC output and neutral. The control circuit of the twin step-up chopper comprises means for regulating imbalance between the output voltages of the positive and negative step-up choppers, suitable both for operation on the mains power system and for operation on the battery.

Methods and systems for managing facility power and cooling

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a system and method that enables a data center operator to determine available power and cooling at specific areas and enclosures in a data centre to assist in locating new equipment in the data center.

Data center control

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a data center with a plurality of racks and at least one cooling unit, and a rack-based cooling metric threshold is also provided, which can determine a layout of the data center that minimizes total power consumption of the plurality of servers and the cooling unit while maintaining cooling performance at an acceptable level.

Uninterruptible power supplies

John T. Boys
TL;DR: In this article, a battery test on load capability is provided by allowing the dumping of the charge stored within the storage batteries for a certain period at the maximum available rate into the internal bus and back into the AC supply through the reversible rectifiers; meanwhile observing the extent of the battery voatage drop so caused.

Stabilized power supply unit

TL;DR: In this article, a stabilized power supply unit is designed to supply the power from the commercial power source as far as the commercial source is normal but supply power from a battery that can be made available by an automatic switching device.

No-break power supply

TL;DR: An A.C. power supply conditioner uses semi-conductor diodes (D1 and D2) and energy storage capacitors (C1 and C2) to produce a high D.c. voltage which is inverted at (TR 1) and (TR 2) to provide an output (L0, N0) without use of isolating transformer as mentioned in this paper.

D.C. chopper regulating method and apparatus incorporating bilateral regulating voltage path

TL;DR: In this paper, a high power chopper (34,36) is used to produce a first chopped signal having the same voltage as the input (VIN), and by a low power (56,58) to produce another chopped signal in synchronism with and having a lower voltage than the first one.

Current-mode control of capacitively coupled power converters

TL;DR: In this article, a circuit for enabling current mode control to be used with a capacitively coupled power converter is presented, which includes circuitry for comparing the voltage across a coupling capacitor with its intended voltage and for generating an unbalance signal corresponding to any deviation.
