Potentiodynamic current/potential characteristics of theoretical mechanisms related to the electrochemical formation and electroreduction of monolayer films on inert electrodes
TL;DR: In this article, the current/potential curves of various mechanisms related to the electrochemical formation and electroreduction of monolayer films on inert electrodes, involving a single covering species and two surface covering species are presented.
Journal ArticleDOI
Kinetics and mechanism of the early stages of the voltammetric electrooxidation of carbon monoxide preadsorbed on polycrystalline platinum in acid electrolyte
TL;DR: The first stages of the electrooxidation of CO previously adsorbed on polycrystalline Pt in 1 M HClO 4 at 25°C were investigated by means of the triangularly modulated triangular potential sweep technique as discussed by the authors.

In situ scanning tunneling microscopy topography changes of gold (111) in aqueous sulfuric acid produced by electrochemical surface oxidation and reduction and relaxation phenomena
TL;DR: In this article, the electrochemical formation and reduction of O-layers on gold (111) films in 1 m sulfuric acid under different potentiodynamic routines are investigated utilizing in situ scanning tunneling microscopy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Solid films and interfaces in fused salt electrochemical systems
TL;DR: In this paper, a review of the formation and characteristics of thin solid films is presented, through a few typical examples, that these films occur at different metal-molten electrolyte interfaces and that their average composition depends on how they are formed, i.e. anodically or cathodically.

Kinetic and optical relaxation studies of adsorbed intermediates in some electrochemical reactions
TL;DR: In this article, a method is proposed for resolution of processes involving more than one electrochemisorbed species when the electroactivity of, e.g., two species arises over a common potential range.

Composition of Pt Anode Surfaces by Auger Spectroscopy
W. C. Johnson,L. A. Heldt +1 more
TL;DR: Auger spectroscopy was employed to study platinum surfaces anodized either in with evolution of oxygen, or in with the evolution of chlorine as mentioned in this paper, and the results showed that Pt and oxygen interact to form a stable film of stoichiometry, whereas relatively large concentrations of oxygen and chlorine are present after anodization.
Journal ArticleDOI
The kinetics and mechanism of the cathodic reduction of monomolecular oxide layers electrochemically formed on platinum in bisulphate melts under constant ageing conditions
TL;DR: In this article, the kinetics of the electrochemical reduction of a monolayer oxide film anodically formed on platinum in bisulphate melts are studied by means of single potential sweep voltammetry.
