Journal ArticleDOI

X-ray-diffraction approach for studies on fatigue and creep

TL;DR: The X-ray diffraction is one of the most powerful means for investigating the microscopic structure of crystalline materials as discussed by the authors, and it has been applied to metallic materials; it responds very sensitively to changes in the metal's crystalline structure.
Book ChapterDOI

Detection of Fatigue Damage by X-Rays

TL;DR: X-ray diffraction is one of the means for investigating the microscopic structure of crystalline materials as mentioned in this paper, which is advantageous when it is applied to metal materials; it responds very sensitively to changes in the metal's crystalline structure.
Journal ArticleDOI

The nature of the structural imperfections in the alternate extension and compression of molybdenum single crystals

TL;DR: In this paper, the structure of Mo crystals in the early stages of fatigue was studied and it was found that the broadening of the peaks on the oscillation curves was associated with the strengthening of the material, ending in the formation of a relatively small number of subboundary barriers whose orientation is determined by the crystallographic elements of slip in the single crystals.
