Journal ArticleDOI

Optimal sensor selection for sensor-based sorting based on automated mineralogy data

TL;DR: In this article, the authors illustrate the prospect of successful sensor selection based on data acquired by scanning electron microscopy-based image analysis and demonstrate that the abundance of rock-forming chlorite and/or density anomalies may well be used as proxies for the main ore mineral cassiterite.
Journal ArticleDOI

Sensor-Based Ore Sorting—A Review of Current Use of Electromagnetic Spectrum in Sorting

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors present a comprehensive theoretical and practical survey and comparison of current sorting methods relying on the use of the electromagnetic spectrum, and propose a dual x-ray transmission and fluorescence method to mitigate the challenge affecting the different schemes.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

A Fast and Noise Rejecting Kolmogorov-Smirnvo Sorting Algorithm in X-ray Diamond sorting

TL;DR: In this paper , a new x-ray signature parameter was defined by combining high-density ensemble data from both modes for a calibrated sample which they use as a benchmark in their sorting criteria.
