To our knowledge, this is the first video server that provides an end-to-end performance guarantee from the server's disks to each user's display over standard Ethernet.
Therefore, the client buffer requirements and video synchronization need to be considered.

As a result, no additional requirements are imposed on the mobile client and video server, so that mobile users interact with the server in exactly the same way as stationary users, and all they experience are better picture quality, less jerky video and shorter delays.
This model can be used to determine the requirements of network bandwidth and video server and, hence, the trade-off in communication and storage costs for different system resource configurations.
We propose a relatively simple, flexible and robust video-server architecture.
With the proposed AGSS and SSS, our parallel video server architecture can be scaled up to more than 10000 concurrent users.

Our results show that Fiber Channel is attractive as a video/media server I/O interface.
Results show that a simple extension of the server-push service model does not perform well under the parallel video server architecture.
