This provided coverage of widespread international population. Findings – Findings suggest that while research into HRD as a subject and academic discipline is very healthy, there is a dearth of research into the TLA of HRD educational programmes or at least research that is published.
By identifying the relationship between HRD and one of its closely related fields, adult education, this article argues that it is adult learning theory that provides a foundation and linkage for both fields.
Drawing on these findings, we question whether the introduction of critical approaches to HRD afforded or prevented articulation and interchange between this educational programme and the students' employing organizations, highlighting the implications for HRD research and practice.
Our findings suggest that the nature of HRD as an academic subject varies with institutional location, as do the skill sets of students who graduate from HRD programmes.

How does media affect platform governance on policy level?3 answersMedia has a significant impact on platform governance at the policy level. The expansion of video-on-demand platforms and the advance of digital capitalism have made the politics of digital media policy relevant, as seen in the case of the Audiovisual Media Services Directive (AVMSD) adopted by the European Union. The current global 'techlash' towards major digital platforms has sparked a debate about whether these platforms should be considered media companies, which has implications for media policy in the 21st century. The spread of misinformation, particularly during the Covid-19 pandemic, has led to the development of policies by platforms such as Facebook and YouTube, as well as the EU Code of Practice, to address this issue. Growing political distrust in digital platforms has also led to policy debates about their market power and business models, with proposals for public-private policy regimes such as co-regulation. Policymakers are grappling with questions of accountability, transparency, market dominance, and content regulation, leading to a policy turn in internet governance.

Additionally, online education options can increase overall enrollment in formal education, particularly for mid-career individuals, expanding opportunities for those who may not have pursued education otherwise. These low-cost, high-quality online options can open doors for populations who may have been previously excluded from educational opportunities. Furthermore, online technology can be used to coordinate virtual project teams and offer flexible and quality educational services. It is important to find the right mix of online tools and technologies to optimize results and address behavioral and cultural issues that may arise. Developments in technology, such as online learning platforms, provide new opportunities for learners and nations to enhance education and career development, particularly in Asia and the Pacific.
How to develop MOOCs platform?5 answersTo develop a MOOCs platform, it is important to consider the technical features of the platform, such as the choice of open source developments and the analysis of IP rights and licenses associated with the platform. Additionally, the platform should be able to support thousands of concurrent users efficiently and effectively. Integration with external tools like social networks can enhance the platform by providing enhanced information and insights about user interactions with content and MOOC tools. The platform should also support online video editing and publishing, including video on demand and live streaming functionality. It should have a learning platform for online study and teaching interactions, utilizing technologies like JavaEE, Flex, Red5 video server, and WebService. Usability evaluation should be conducted to ensure a user-friendly platform, with feedback from experts taken into account for improvements.
What is the current state of research on Learning Experience Platforms?0 answersResearch on Learning Experience Platforms (LEPs) focuses on the micro level of education, specifically the teaching and learning process. LEPs are digital platforms equipped with analytical tools and artificial intelligence to provide personalized learning experiences. Two LEPs, Bettermarks and Eduten Playground, have been studied in the context of education. These platforms allow learners to personalize their learning content, methods, and timing. By analyzing teaching-learning activities, participants can identify knowledge gaps and receive suggestions for improvement. The benefits of LEPs in teaching and learning practice, as well as challenges for their effective use, have been empirically studied. Additionally, research has explored the emotional effects of e-learning platforms and proposed non-invasive methods for assessing emotional responses. Real-time non-invasive tools have been found to be more comprehensive and reliable than retrospective questionnaires, potentially improving satisfaction and learning outcomes.
