It "repre-sented the first embodiment of a truly interactive computer graphics system," Herbert Freeman said, introducing the paper in his reprint collection.2 Sketchpad was simple by today's standards-a black-and-white, line-drawing system running slowly on a large computer.
The proposed solution eliminates the restriction of direct contact with the mouse, and empowers people with motor disabilities in the upper extremities to interact with the computer.

A mouse can handle the Graphic User Interface (GUI) very well and a keyboard can help users to input text as a Text User Interface (TUI).
It is suggested that the design of the man-computer interface is central to the design of an interactive system.
This suggests that first the developed computer model was robust and could be used later for design purposes.
As we progress into applications that incorporate interactive life-like 3D computer graphics, the mouse falls short as a user interface device, and it becomes obvious that 3D computer graphics could achieve much more with a more intuitive user interface mechanism.
There is a need for additional research on the ergonomics computer mouse input devices.
This innovative device waives common inputs such as mouse and keyboard, and represents an innovative graphical user interface and user interaction.

In this line of work, perhaps still the most visible milestone for an ordinary user has been the development of a graphical, mouse-driven user interface.
The result shows that this system can operate well so we can interact with computer using our hand gesture instead using a mouse.
Moreover, by understanding the intent of every mouse movement, we may be able to achieve a better interface for human computer interaction.
The developed computer interface provides an alternative means for individuals with motor disabilities to access computers.
Intensive mouse-based computer work, with constrained posture and little rest in the forearm muscles, was associated with an increased risk of disorders in the elbows-hands.
Our approach further demonstrates that mouse-cursor movements can provide insight into the cognitive state of computer users.
It was concluded that although there are few claims related to computer mouse use, it appears to be a growing problem, and therefore, perhaps, deserves more research and intervention attention.

When was the first computer created?5 answersThe first computer was created in 1939 by John Atanasoff at Iowa State University. However, the invention lapsed into the public domain due to the confusion of American entry into World War II. The rapid advance of computing technology since the 1940s has led to the misconception that all computing before then was mere prologue. In reality, machines built in the 1930s and 1940s had some sequence control, electronic counting circuits, and primitive branching capabilities. In 1837, Charles Babbage sketched the first computer program for the Analytical Engine, which computed solutions for a system of linear equations. The Electronic Numerical Integrator and Computer (ENIAC), built from 1943 to 1951, was one of the first programmable digital electronic computers.
What is the User Interface?5 answersThe user interface is the portion of an interactive computer system that communicates with the user. It includes any aspect of the system that is visible to the user. In the past, computer interfaces consisted of jumper wires, punched cards, and batch printouts. Today, with the widespread use of computers by nonspecialists, keyboards, mice, and graphical displays are the most common interface hardware. The user interface is becoming a larger and more important portion of the software in a computer system as more people use computers. The user interface can be defined as everything concerning the human side of information systems, including human factors and human-computer interaction. It encompasses the social dimension of information systems development. The user interface is the point in the system where a human being interacts with a computer. It can incorporate hardware, software, procedures, and data.
