Abstract: A bell-mouth structure of an air blower provided around a blade wheel of an axial-flow air blower for guiding air from an air suction side of the blade wheel to an air blow-out side including an air blow-out wall portion that intercommunicates with an air blow-out opening and extends substantially along an axial direction of the blade wheel, and a slope wall portion that intercommunicates with the air blow-out wall portion and slopes to an air suction opening so as to expand in diameter. When the overall height of the bell-mouth is represented by H, the height of the slope wall portion is represented by h and a slope angle of the slope wall portion is represented by β, the bell mouth structure is configured so as to satisfy 0.33≤h/H≤0.42 and 60°≤β≤70°.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an axial blower of noise performance and efficiency improved by reducing jet stream generated at a gap between an outer circumference end edge of blades and a bell mouth, and an air conditioner and a ventilation fan using the axial blower. SOLUTION: In this axial blower, the bell mouth 5 is disposed at an outer circumference of an impeller 4 comprising a plurality of forward swept wing type blades 13. The bell mouth 5 includes a throttling part 52 formed oppositely to the outer circumference of the impeller 4 so as to partition a blow out zone and a suction zone of the blower, a suction side opening part 51 expanding a suction side of the throttling part 52, and a blow out side opening part 53 expanding a blow out side. The throttling part 52 comprises a first throttling part 52a forming a gap g of necessary minimum dimension n with the outer circumference end edge R of the blades 13 and a second throttling part 52b forming a gap of dimension greater than the necessary minimum dimension n with the outer circumference end edge R of the blades 13. An included angle between a bell mouth of the microwave transmitter and a plane of a measured object is larger than 0 degree and smaller than 30 degrees, and then microwaves reflected by the measured object can be deviated from the bell mouth of the microwave transmitter, thereby avoiding microwave interference, and guaranteeing accuracy, sensitivity and reliability of moisture measurement. For the purpose of guaranteeing microwaves penetrating through the measured object to be received by the microwave receiver basically, the diameter of a bell mouth of the microwave receiver is smaller than or equal to the diameter of the bell mouth of the microwave transmitter, thereby further increasing accuracy, sensitivity and reliability of measurement. The transmission-type microwave moisture measuring device applies microwave measurement into on-line measurement of moisture of measured objects and production actuality, realizes controlling the device, and has certain practical significance for guaranteeing product quality, saving energy sources and improving benefits of industries.

SOLUTION: This axial blower is a semi-open axial blower including an impeller 1 supporting a plurality of blades 11 at an outer circumference of a hub 12, and the bell mouth 2 having the impeller 1 disposed in an opening hole part 21. The opening hole part 21 of the bell mouth 2 includes a restriction part 22 including a section where a gap with an outer circumference edge of the impeller 11 becomes the minimum, and a suction side diameter expansion part 23 expanding diameter of a suction side of the restriction part 22. A guide part 31 giving pre-rotation in a direction same as a rotation direction of the impeller 1 to air current flowing along a surface of the suction side diameter expansion part 23 is formed at least in the suction side diameter expansion part 23. An oil vapor channel is arranged in the separator body; an inlet of the oil vapor channel is a bell mouth; the outlet of the oil vapor channel is connected with a carbon tank through an oil vapor vent pipe; a floater is arranged in the bell mouth; the position at the bell mouth and on the separator body is in threaded connection with a stopper, and the floater can float up and down between the bell mouth and the stopper; a through hole is arranged on the stopper; and the bottom of the floater is provided with a vent groove communicated with a through-hole The oil-gas separator of the invention is fixed on the top of an oil tank, oil vapor can smoothly passes the separator to enter into the carbon tank, the floater floats upwards immediately to block the channel once fuel enters into the separator, thus the fuel cannot pass through the channel. The oil-gas separator has simple manufacturing process and convenient and reliable fixed installation, can effectively separate oil and gas, and avoid the entering of the fuel to the carbon tank.

Abstract: A bell mouth for a scroll case according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention is a bell mouth which is provided on the top plate of the scroll case to form an air inlet in order to allow air flow into the scroll case by a centrifugal blower installed inside the scroll case, and the volume of two parts of the bell mouth in respect to a rotation shaft of the centrifugal blower is different from each other. According to the present invention, it is possible to minimize generation of reverse flow of inflow air by increasing or decreasing a variation of the cross-section area of the bell mouth according to an increase in the pressure of the flow rate.

Abstract: In this study, effect of bell mouth geometries to flow rate in centrifugal blowers were numerically simulated using a commercial CFD program, FLUENT. Total twelve numerical models were created by combining different value of bell mouth radius and gap between bell mouth and upper fan case (The cross surface of ball mouth was fixed to round shape in this research). All models were meshed with hexahedra elements using Gambit software. Frozen rotor method combined with Realizable k-spsilon turbulence model and non-equilibrium wall function was used to simulate the three-dimensional flow inside centrifugal blowers. The CFD investigation showed that the bell mouth radius had strong impact on flow rate, which can vary more than ten percent with different bell mouth models, while the effect of gap between bell mouth and upper fan case to flow rate was weaker. Base on CFD results, experiments have been carried out for typical bell mouth to verify the effect of bell mouth radius and gap between bell mouth and upper fan case to flow rate. The CFD results were thereafter validated owning to the good agreement between CFD results and experiment results.

An exhaust gas outlet is arranged at the top part of the tower body; a slurry pool used for containing a desulphurization washing liquid is arranged at the bottom part of an inner cavity of the tower body; a washing liquid spray pipe transversely arranged inside the tower body is positioned below the exhaust gas outlet and communicated with the slurry pool through a recirculating pump; an exhaust gas inlet is arranged in the middle of the tower body and is positioned below the washing liquid spray pipe; following the downward vertical direction, at least part of the tower body adopts a structure of an outer expansion bell mouth with gradually increased ring diameters; and the exhaustgas inlet is arranged on the structure of the outer expansion bell mouth. The outer expansion bell mouth structural design adopted by the tower body eliminates the inlet inclination angle of the absorption tower, and changes an inclined exhaust gas inlet pipeline into a horizontal pipeline, thereby reducing the design difficulty, saving the material requirement of an engineering project, reducingthe pressure loss of an inlet section, and achieving the purposes of optimizing design methods and reducing the construction work cost and the operation energy consumption of the absorption tower.

The tapered part 15 is connected to the lower end of the channel enlargement part 14, and a channel area is reduced gradually toward the lower end. In the diffuser 17, a fitting part 18 is formed on the upper end. The tapered part 15 is fitted into the fitting part 18 of the diffuser 17. The upper end of the fitting part 18 has a contact with the whole periphery of the tapered part 15, and the lower throat 13B and the diffuser 17 are sealed. SOLUTION: In the blower of the on-vehicle refrigerating and air-conditioning unit, an axial flow fan (propeller fan 10) is provided on an output shaft (motor shaft 6A) of a drive source (a sub engine 5, an electric motor 6) vibro-isolated on a frame 2, and a bell mouth 22 installed around the axial flow fan (propeller fan 10) is fixed to and supported by the frame 2 side. Abstract: A ventilation fan noise-reduction structure is an open panel (120) fixed upon a scroll housing (110). The open panel (120) forms an annular semi-enclosed hollow structure in order to match the shape of an air inlet (140) on the scroll housing. The open panel (120) only covers the air inlet (140) area on the scroll housing. According to present invention,the noise generated by the ventilation fan may follow the guidance of a bell mouth of the ventilation fan scroll housing to be smoothly suctioned by the open panel and generated diffusion inside the open panel due to the repeated collision. Therefore the energy is damped step by step and the sound pressure is decreased.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bell mouth mounting structure having a bell mouth connected and a duct buried in advance, and allowing connection to an underground case such as a hand hole as required, while preventing entry of soil and sand or the like into the duct. SOLUTION: A protective tube 3 is a tube body into which a cable or the like is inserted. A resin tube having flexibility can be applied, for example. The bell mouth 7 is a cylindrical member, and is widened in a bell shape at one end. A joint 5 is a cylindrical member for inserting the protective tube 3 and the bell mouth 7. An end of the protective tube 3 is inserted and fixed at one end of the joint 7. The bell mouth 7 is inserted into the other end of the joint 5. Sealing members 9a, 9b are provided between the bell mouth 7 and the joint 5. The sealing member 9a is provided near the end of the joint 5 where the bell mouth 7 is inserted. Abstract: Groins are popular river training structures widely used all over the world including Bangla- desh. Groins have been used to create a flow condition that reduces the vulnerability of river bank erosion by diverting the flow away from the bank. Also groins have been used to increase the navigability of waterways. The flow structures around groin head play a very important role for their successful performance. Literature search reveals that bell mouth groins are relatively more popular in Bangladesh than other types of groins. But no systematic experiments have been conducted to study the flow pattern and flow behavior around bell mouth groins. Keeping this in view, a study was undertaken to investigate the flow field around bell mouth groin in a large mobile bed physical model facility (46m x 11 m) of BUET. A total number of 24 test runs were conducted. Three different discharges and four different angles and two groin conditions (submerged and non-submerged) was considered. Twelve tests were conducted for non-submerged conditions of which 6 (six) tests were with 14 cm depth and 6 (six) tests were with 18 cm depth. Similarly, another twelve tests were conducted with submerged condition of which 6 (six) had a water depth of 22 cm and the rest six with 26 cm depth. The top width of the shank of bell mouth groin was 12.5 cm and the bottom width was 32.5 cm. The height of groin above the bed surface was 20 cm and below the bed level was 40 cm. The top diameter at head of the groin was 15 cm and at base on the bed level was 35 cm. All tests were conducted for 8 hours duration in clear water condition. In order to avoid the ripple formation, the coarse sand with d50 = 0.75 mm was se- lected as bed material. Velocity data have been collected forming grids in both vertical and horizontal direc- tion around the vicinity of the bell mouth groin. Velocity was measured at 0.2, 0.4, 0.6 and 0.8 depths from the water surface by forming grids. For each grid 120 velocity measurements were taken, hence for 4-layers in one test run, 480 data on velocity have been collected with the help of a programmable electromagnetic ve- locity meter (P-EMS). Change in flow conditions around bell mouth groin for various test run have been ana- lyzed non-dimensionally in longitudinal, lateral and vertical direction. The study showed that for different groin arrangements the near bed velocity around the vicinity of bell mouth was reduced. In most of the cases, shifting away of maximum velocity was observed. Analysis of velocity contour also revealed this trend of shifting maximum velocity away from the bell mouth groin. In this paper the results of test runs conducted under submerged conditions for 150 0 and 90 0 angles are reported.
