Abstract: Companies communicating between Hong Kong and California employ seven basic methods: telex, letter, telephone, visit, courier, computer, and telegram. Interviews with 21 managers in Hong Kong and 22 in California reveal the main advantages and disadvantages of these methods and recom mend a number of safeguards against their misuse.

Abstract: Research and planning in the area of business data processing curriculum has been conducted for decades. Much of the current thinking is that a technical education in the area of programming is essential for success in business data processing. Not much emphasis has been placed on the business application side. This paper reviews some recent empirical research and proposes a user-oriented education for business programmers.
