TL;DR: In this paper, Copolymer resins of peanut skin tannin extract, aldehydes and cashew nut shell liquid were used in formulating oleoresinous wood varnishes.
Abstract: Copolymer resins of peanut skin tannin extract, aldehydes and cashew nut shell liquid were prepared. The resins were blended with bitumen and used in formulating oleoresinous wood varnishes. The film properties of the varnishes were determined and the results showed that the gloss and scratch hardness of the films increased with increase in the quantity of cashew nut shell liquid/tannin‐aldehyde resins incorporated. The results also showed that the resins improved the chemical resistance of the varnish films. Varnish compositions containing 50:50 of bitumen and the resins gave films with satisfactory physical and chemical properties. The study showed that it is possible to formulate excellent oleoresinous wood varnishes using blends of bitumen and cashew nut shell liquid/tannin‐aldehyde resins.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain excellent flame retardance, to lessen the amount of emission of smoke and the amount of production of corrosive gas, and also to obtain excellent weldability and chemical resistance, by having a base layer containing an inorganic flame retardant in polyvinyl chloride and a polyvinyl chloride surface layer laminated at least on one surface of the base layer. SOLUTION: A flame retardant vinyl chloride resin molded material 1 has a constitution wherein both surfaces of a base layer 2 containing inorganic flame retardant particles 3 in polyvinyl chloride resin are covered with surface layers 4 of a polyvinyl chloride layer not containing an inorganic substance substantially. The inorganic flame retaradant particles 3, which are contained in the base layer 2, hold down the burning velocity at the time when the molded material 1 burns and suppress production of corrosive gases which are produced in the burning, that is, the production of chlorine gas and hydrogen chloride gas produced with the thermal decomposition of polyvinyl chloride heated to a high temperature, thus giving flame retardance to the molded material 1 as a whole. On the other hand, the surface layer 4 of the polyvinyl chloride laminated at least on one surface of the base layer 2 gives excellent weldability and chemical resistance to the molded material 1.

TL;DR: In this article, the critical surface tension of a liquid crystal display or the like is set to 20 dyne/cm or less, which is the minimum surface tension required to obtain a clear image without glare.
Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To heighten antireflection property and eliminate lowering of image contrast so as to obtain a clear image without a glare and to improve optical stability, wear resistance, chemical resistance and pollution resistance by specifying the critical surface tension of a surface layer. SOLUTION: Antireflection material 10 is so constituted as to have a roughened surface layer 12 on one face of a transparent base substance 11. A surface layer is formed on the surface of the roughened surface layer 12. In this case, correlation exists between pollution resistance and critical surface tension of the surface layer. The critical surface tension of the surface of a liquid crystal display or the like is therefore set to 20 dyne/cm or less. The oil dirt from a fingertip does not therefore adhere easily, and even in case of adhering, the dirt can be easily wiped off. As material for this surface layer, there are inorganic low reflection material formed by atomizing inorganic material in acrylic resin or epoxy resin, and organic low reflection material such as a fluorinated or silicone organic compound, thermoplastic resin, thermosetting resin and radiation-setting resin.
