TL;DR: A new method for monitoring the durations of foot-floor contact during walking using a screen walkway and conducting paper on the soles of the shoes as parts of an electrical circuit is described.
Abstract: A new method for monitoring the durations of foot-floor contact during walking is described. The method uses a screen walkway and conducting paper on the soles of the shoes as parts of an electrical circuit. The materials used are identified and circuit diagrams are provided. Several clinical applications and advantages and disadvantages of the method are discussed.

TL;DR: In this paper, the limitations of existing methods available for the assessment of environmental wind conditions around buildings, using wind tunnel models, are discussed and the development of an alternative instrument which, in many situations, is more suitable than those more commonly used, is described.

TL;DR: In this paper, an operational and peak holding amplifiers are discussed as useful circuits for bioluminescence assays, while analog methods can give a good integration on short time scales.
Abstract: Operational and peak holding amplifiers are discussed as useful circuits for bioluminescence assays Circuit diagrams are provided While analog methods can give a good integration on short time scales, digital methods were found best for long term integration in bioluminescence assays Power supplies, a general photometer circuit with ratio capability, and variations in the basic photometer design are also considered

TL;DR: A low resistance superconducting switch for use in initiating transfer of energy from an inductive energy storage coil has been constructed and tested at Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory as mentioned in this paper, where the switch will be used in series with a mechanical circuit breaker to reduce the current through the breaker prior to its opening.
Abstract: A low resistance superconducting switch for use in initiating transfer of energy from an inductive energy storage coil has been constructed and tested at Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory The switch will be used in series with a mechanical circuit breaker to reduce the current through the breaker prior to its opening Both mechanical breaker and switch are immersed in liquid helium Opening the switch before the mechanical breaker will reduce arcing and burning of the mechanical breaker contacts and reduce the rate at which the heat generated during the switching operation is deposited into the helium bath A detailed description of the switch design and construction is given as well as the initial design parameters and test results A circuit diagram of the switching scheme and a discussion of the circuit is also given (auth)

TL;DR: In this paper, an electron emission control circuit of the switching regulator type operating at 100 kHz has been developed which maintains a constant emission current within 0.1% for a cathode power demand variation of approximately 100%.
Abstract: An electron emission control circuit of the switching regulator type operating at 100 kHz has been developed which maintains a constant emission current within 0.1% for a cathode power demand variation of approximately 100%. The power output stage has an efficiency of 67%, and the overall efficiency is 45% when driving a thoria-coated iridium cathode having a nominal resistance at operating temperature of 2.5 ohms. Under optimum conditions, the bus power demand is 1.75 W. The circuit is useful in controlling the electron emission current of ion sources in applications which involve a substantial variation of the cathode work function, such as oxygen partial pressure measurements over a large dynamic range.
