TL;DR: In this article, a credit control system which positively authorizes every credit purchase, furnishes account balance status and accumulates the dollar amount of each credit purchase is presented. But the credit authorizer unit permits manual electronic inspection of the credit file of interest to determine if credit should be authorized for the current transaction.
Abstract: A credit control system which positively authorizes every credit purchase, furnishes account balance status and accumulates the dollar amount of every credit purchase. Customer account numbers, status, credit limit and account balance are stored in a magnetic memory. Remote keyboard units interrogate the memory as to account number and amount of purchase for each purchaser. If the status of the account is valid and there is a positive credit balance, a credit authorization signal is received at the remote keyboard unit. If the status of the account is invalid, or if the status of the account is valid and the credit balance is negative, a credit denial signal is received at the remote keyboard unit, and a credit authorizer unit is activated. The credit authorizer unit permits manual electronic inspection of the credit file of interest to determine if credit should be authorized for the current transaction. If credit is to be authorized, or denied, a credit authorization, or denial signal is received at the remote keyboard unit.

TL;DR: The relevance of transaction analysis to the study of regional integration has been the subject of controversy as mentioned in this paper, and this controversy has produced improved understanding of the role of transaction in regional integration.
Abstract: The relevance of transaction analysis to the study of regional integration has been the subject of controversy. In dialectical fashion though, this controversy has produced improved understanding. Early exponents, who tended at times to overestimate the efficacy of the transaction approach, have accepted its limitations, and, by the same token, some early critics of transaction analysis have accepted its usefulness. Overall, we have come to recognize that regional integration is a multidimensional phenomenon, much more complex than initially imagined. Transaction approaches are appropriate and useful for investigating some aspects of regional integration; they are less useful for investigating others.

TL;DR: In this paper, a device which stores information relative to a plurality of accounts and calculates new balances for individual selected accounts upon receipt of information pertaining to a financial transaction to be charged or credited to the selected account and transmits the new calculated information to the point of the transaction is described.
Abstract: A device which stores information relative to a plurality of accounts and calculates new balances for individual selected accounts upon receipt of information pertaining to a financial transaction to be charged or credited to the selected account and transmits the new calculated information to the point of the transaction, apparatus at the point of transaction responsive to the transmitted information for printing on preassembled first and second forms a visible display of the amount of the transaction and a temporarily concealed display of the amount of the transaction and the selected account balances before and after the transaction.

TL;DR: A conceptual model for a Decision Support System that will help database administrators on reverse engineering legacy system applications from its database logs, generating rules about transactions, to retrieve business process is described that will complement Conceptual Schema Integration.
Abstract: Traditional methods of database integration don't solve applications integration issues. These methods work on database schema. Beyond the complexity of integrating names and meanings between data and metadata of heterogeneous databases, is the understanding of the business that originated applications. Database transactions should have been projected to reflect the business activities. In general, differences between abstractions levels don't let database transactions mirror business activities. Business process consists of separate activities. Sometimes database transactions solve part of a defined activity. Otherwise more than one activity can be embedded in a database transaction. Database log records all occurrences of database transactions; it has their complete histories. Database log is an endogenous data warehouse: In this datawarehouse one can mine rules, which will help understanding the nature of the business task and the adequacy of the related database logical model. This paper describes a conceptual model for a Decision Support System that will help database administrators on reverse engineering legacy system applications from its database logs, generating rules about transactions, to retrieve business process That approach will complement Conceptual Schema Integration.

TL;DR: In this article, the origins of dowry in East Africa have been studied and the factors which have motivated the transaction to take place in this particular way have been discovered, and the purpose of their research has been to discover the factors that have motivated this particular transaction.
Abstract: For some time I have been trying to study the origins of the customary practice of dowry in East Africa. There are, as one can imagine, tremendous variations in the details of traditional procedures from one tribe to another. But in spite of these variants there is one common characteristic: the fact that money, goods, manual labour, or symbolic articles are provided by the bridegroom (or his family) and pass into the hands of the father of the bride. The purpose of my research has been to discover the factors which have motivated the transaction to take place in this particular way.
