Abstract: A drive control device for a vehicle including an engine and a clutch device provided in a power transmission path between the engine and a drive wheel includes: a normal traveling unit causing the vehicle to travel while the engine is connected to the drive wheel; a free-run coasting unit disconnecting the engine from the drive wheel during traveling and to cause the vehicle to coast while the engine is stopped; a neutral coasting unit disconnecting the engine from the drive wheel during traveling and to cause the vehicle to coast while the engine is autonomously operated; and a coasting switching control unit setting an upper limit value of an upward gradient of a road surface, at which the neutral coasting is stopped, such that the upper limit value is larger than an upper limit value of the upward gradient of the road surface, at which the free-run coasting is stopped.

The track assembly may comprise a lateral motion mechanism allowing a roller wheel to move widthwise in response to a side load.

Abstract: The utility model provides an automatic following luggage case and an electronic label. The luggage case includes an RFID antenna, a drive wheel, a controller, a sensor, and a motor. The RFID antenna captures a wireless signal transmitted by the electronic label carried by a user and sends the wireless signal to the controller, the sensor scans the positions of obstacles in the surrounding environment and sends a scanning result to the controller, the controller controls the direction of the drive wheel based on the wireless signal and the scanning result, and the motor drives the drive wheel to rotate. The electronic label includes a base, an RFID coil, and a power supply, the RFID coil is arranged on the base to continuously transmit wireless signals, and the power supply supplies power to the RFID. The luggage case can automatically follow the user to move without the need for the user pulling the pull bar, thereby freeing the user's hands, saving the user's physical power, and realizing the automatic moving in a true sense.

An electric motor comprising a coil and a plurality of magnets is provided on the axle assembly. In one example, the coil is disposed on the housing and the magnets are disposed on the drum. The coil is configured to selectively energize to provide one of a positive or negative torque input to the output member.

Each eModule includes a drive wheel containing a propulsion-braking module, and a housing containing propulsion and braking control assemblies with respective embedded propulsion and brake controllers, and a mounting bracket covering a steering control assembly with embedded steering controllers. The master controller, which is in communication with each eModule and with the driver input devices, communicates with and independently controls each eModule, by-wire, via the embedded controllers to establish a desired operating mode. Modes may include a two-wheel, four-wheel, diamond, and omni-directional steering modes as well as a park mode. A bumper may enable docking with another vehicle, with shared control over the eModules of the vehicles.

Abstract: A start system includes a vehicle bus system disposed in a motor vehicle. A powertrain control module is connected to the vehicle bus system. The powertrain control module includes an engaged state electrically enabling the powertrain control module to provide tractive power to a vehicle drive wheel, and a disengaged state electrically inhibiting the powertrain control module from providing tractive power to the vehicle drive wheel or another vehicle drive wheel. An authentication system is in communication with the vehicle bus system and with an electronic pattern-entry user interface. The authentication system is responsive to an entered pattern entered on the interface while the powertrain control module is in a current instance of the disengaged state. The powertrain control module enters the engaged state only in response to an authenticated engagement command communicated from the authentication system to the powertrain control module in response to authenticating the entered pattern.

Abstract: A plurality of industrial vehicle operating parameters are observed and evaluated to monitor drivetrain(s) of the vehicle to determine whether a traction motor has become decoupled from its drivetrain, i.e., a dynamic gearbox failure. If a dynamic gearbox failure is detected, a static test is performed while the vehicle is stopped to confirm the failure. Drive capabilities of the vehicle are restricted if the dynamic gearbox failure is confirmed by the static test while full drive capabilities are enabled if not. A parking brake test is performed by applying each mechanical brake that is attached to a traction motor or a driving wheel and then individually controlling the traction motors in accordance with an operator's travel request such that each motor produces enough torque to rotate the motor if the brake its respective drive wheel is functionally degraded. The torque is applied in the direction of the operator's travel request so that any movement of the vehicle due to inadequate mechanical braking will not be unexpected by the operator.

The steering control assembly includes a steering motor controlled by steering controllers in response to control signals from the master controller. A mounting feature of the bracket connects to the chassis. The propulsion control assembly and brake controller are in communication with the propulsion-braking module. The control arm connects to the lower portion and contains elements of a suspension system, with the control arm being connectable to the drive wheel via a wheel input/output block. The controllers are responsive to the master controller to control a respective steering, propulsion, and braking function. The steering motor may have a dual-wound stator with windings controlled via the respective steering controllers.

Abstract: In this paper, we study the design of omnidirectional mobile robots with Active-Caster RObotic drive with BAll Transmission (ACROBAT). ACROBAT system has been developed by the authors group which realizes mechanical coordination of wheel and steering motions for creating caster behaviors without computer calculations. A motion in the specific direction relative to a robot body is fully depends on the motion of a specific motor. This feature gives a robot designer to build an omnidirectional mobile robot propelled by active-casters with no redundant actuation with a simple control. A controller of the robot becomes as simple as that for omni-wheeled robotic bases. Namely 3DOF of the omnidirectional robot is controlled by three motors using a simple and constant kinematics. ACROBAT includes a unique dual-ball transmission to transmit traction power to rotate and orient a drive wheel with distributing velocity components to wheel and steering axes in an appropriate ratio. Therefore a sensor for measuring a wheel orientation and calculations for velocity distributions are totally removed from a conventional control system. To build an omnidirectional vehicle by ACROBAT, the significant feature is some multiple drive shafts can be driven by a common motor which realizes non-redundant actuation of the robotic platform. A kinematic model of the proposed robot with ACROBAT is analyzed and a mechanical condition for realizing a non-redundant actuation is derived. Based on the kinematic model and the mechanical condition, computer simulations of the mechanism are performed. A prototype two-wheeled robot with two ACROBATs is designed and built to verify the availability of the proposed system. In the experiments, the prototype robot shows successful omnidirectional motions with a simple and constant kinematics based control.

Abstract: The invention discloses a carbon-free self-propelled trolley with a reversing function. A four-connecting-rod mechanism and a joint bearing part are used to accurately control swing of a guide wheel fork so as to realize turning of a guide wheel, small torque and abrasion and accurate swing are achieved. Four rail rods are used to limit swing of a counter weight, so that tilting of the trolley during turning and coming up and down a slope can be avoided effectively. The carbon-free self-propelled trolley is driven to move by converting gravitational potential energy into kinetic energy, no fuel or electric energy is needed, no greenhouse effect gases such as carbon dioxide are emitted, and the carbon-free self-propelled trolley is low-carbon, environmental friendly, and simple to use. An operator can reverse a trolley drive wheel to hang a heavy object, namely converting mechanical energy into gravitational potential energy. The carbon-free self-propelled trolley can be used as physics demonstration experiment equipment for primary schools and middle schools, and students are allowed to better understand experiment energy conversion and application through specific instances.

The double-motor controller comprises a main control chip integrated with an electronic differential module, two groups of drive motor control chips, two groups of rotary transformer decoding chips, two groups of power drive modules for controlling a motor to operate, a capacitor bank, an angle decoding and conditioning circuit, two permanent magnet motors with built-in rotary transformers, and an active force battery pack, wherein the main control chip is used for processing a received signal; and a left drive wheel control signal and a right drive wheel control signal are transmitted into the drive motor control chips corresponding to wheels respectively through the operation of an electronic differential operation module. The drive motor control chips receive information of position values, speed values and the like of the drive motor returned by corresponding rotary transformer decoding chips; information provided by the main control chip is combined so as to be processed comprehensively; and a waveform is output to a corresponding power drive module so as to operate the wheels through the drive motor. The double-motor controller with the electronic differential function has the advantages of high drive efficiency, small volume, convenience in arrangement and installation, and capability of active differential.

Abstract: A powered pallet truck with a selectable effective reduced turning radius, and an intermediate roller assembly for mounting on the powered pallet truck, are provided. The intermediate roller assembly can include a base, a linear actuator pivotably connected at a base end to the base, a linkage pivotably connected to the base, and at least one roller having an axis pivotably connected to an actuating end of the linear actuator and to the linkage, the at least one roller thus being movable between a retracted and an engagement position. The assembly can be mounted to the underside of a pallet truck fork having a load wheel. A turning radius effectively defined by a drive wheel of the pallet truck and the intermediate roller, or a turning radius effectively defined by the drive wheel and the load wheel, can be selected.

At least one hydraulic cylinder (including a hydraulic piston) adjusts a wheel center distance between the at least one guide wheel and the drive wheel in order to change the tension of the tension mechanism. The at least one hydraulic cylinder acts directly on the guide wheel. In order to tension the tension mechanism, the hydraulic piston is displaceably disposed in a pressure chamber and acted upon by pressure medium from a pressure source via a check valve that opens toward the pressure chamber. Once a blocked state of the check valve is reached, the pressure chamber is connected to a device for receiving a defined volume of pressure medium.
