TL;DR: A system is described that provides subtraction of horizonta l edges and enhancement of those edges oriented in any other direction in a television image of a roentgenogram that depends on signal delay and contrast in the original image.
Abstract: A system is described that provides subtraction of horizonta l edges and enhancement of those edges oriented in any other direction in a television image of a roentgenogram. The technique and circuitry are described briefly. The dependence of edge-enhancement on signal delay and contrast in the original image is elucidated. Examples of the application of this technique in clinical radiology and teaching are presented.
