TL;DR: In this article, a push-pull power amplifier, adapted to be connected to a loudspeaker, includes driver transistors and output power transistors, and a shunt arm, preferably including a Zener diode and a reversely poled high speed diode, is connected between the base of each driver transistor and the loudspeaker.
Abstract: A transistor push-pull power amplifier, adapted to be connected to a loudspeaker, includes driver transistors and output power transistors. A shunt arm, preferably including a Zener diode and a reversely poled high-speed diode, is connected between the base of each driver transistor and the loudspeaker. In the event of an overload, the shunt arms prevent excess current from harming the transistors of the amplifier.
