Abstract: Manifolds have enough structure to allow differentiation of maps between them. To set the stage for these concepts requires a development of differential calculus in linear spaces from a geometric point of view. The goal of this chapter is to provide this perspective.

TL;DR: In this paper, the problem of optimal control with mixed equality and inequality operator constraints is considered under the assumption of Gâteaux differentiability, and the extremum principle for this kind of problem is obtained by using some specification of the Dubovitskii-Milyutin method for the case of n equality constraints given by Gõaux differentiable operators.
