Abstract: : This report presents preliminary results of a study in the area of error classification. A general method of error classification is described which is designed to serve as a guideline for experiment-specific application. A survey of error classification and analysis work, both in the general literature and at MITRE, as well as a study of error experiment design considerations, are reflected in the discussion and conclusions.
