Abstract: Nowadays spike-based brain processing emulation is taking off. Several EU and others worldwide projects are demonstrating this, like SpiNNaker, BrainScaleS, FACETS, or NeuroGrid. The larger the brain process emulation on silicon is, the higher the communication performance of the hosting platforms has to be. Many times the bottleneck of these system implementations is not on the performance inside a chip or a board, but in the communication between boards. This paper describes a novel modular Address-Event-Representation (AER) FPGA-based (Spartan6) infrastructure PCB (the AER-Node board) with 2.5Gbps LVDS high speed serial links over SATA cables that offers a peak performance of 32-bit 62.5Meps (Mega events per second) on board-to-board communications. The board allows back compatibility with parallel AER devices supporting up to x2 28-bit parallel data with asynchronous handshake. These boards also allow modular expansion functionality through several daughter boards. The paper is focused on describing in detail the LVDS serial interface and presenting its performance.

Abstract: A physiological measurement platform is proposed for enabling users to measure physical condition regularly and to maintain good physical condition. The proposed system combines three basic physiological signal acquisition modules: an ECG module, a blood pressure module, and an oxygen saturation module. The physiological signals captured by the three physiological signal acquisition modules are sent via a data interface module to a mobile handheld device. Three communication systems are used for data transmission: RS-232 serial port wired transmission wireless, ZigBee, and Bluetooth. The captured physiological signals are presented on Android system mobile handheld devices, and the physiological data received by the mobile handheld device are sent to the cloud server via the Internet. After establishing a personal physiological database in the cloud server, the improved particle swarm optimization algorithm is used to determine the best personal physiological data, while setting physiological data dangerous levels for preliminary diagnosis. The dangerous levels are adjusted and set according to the personal medical records and physiological data of the subjects. When the physiological data reach the designated danger levels, it gives a warning to seek timely treatment by a medical unit. Finally, the system can incorporate video equipment to enable remote diagnosis and consultation by medical units.

The device is composed of an identity authentication authorization management server and a state cryptographic serial port identity authentication terminal, wherein the identity authentication authorization management server comprises a TCM security chip, an operating system, an identity authentication authorization management system, an industrial firewall, an outer network interface, an inner network interface and a BIOS, and the state cryptographic serial port identity authentication terminal comprises a CPU, a confidentiality memorizer and a chip operating system. The reliable operation of the identity authentication authorization management server, the authorization of different authority limits of a read-only access terminal, a configuration modification terminal and a safety management terminal and the authority limit achieving method of three kinds of state cryptographic serial port identity authentication terminals for accessing an industrial control system through an outer network are achieved through the combining application of the state cryptographic algorithms, SM1, SM2 and SM3. The method and device can effectively and strictly manage the boundary of the industrial control system and the outer network to meet the needs of the industrial control system safety of our country, and the method and device have the advantages of being safe and reliable, fast in promotion, easy and convenient to maintain, low in operating cost and universal in use.

Abstract: This paper evaluates and characterizes the technical performance of medical wireless personal area networks (WPANs) that are based on smartphones. For this purpose, a prototype of a health telemonitoring system is presented. The prototype incorporates a commercial Android smartphone, which acts as a relay point, or “gateway”, between a set of wireless medical sensors and a data server. Additionally, the paper investigates if the conventional capabilities of current commercial smartphones can be affected by their useas gateways or “Holters” in health monitoring applications. Specifically, the profiling has focused on the CPU and power consumption of the mobile devices. These metrics have been measured under several test conditions modifying the smartphone model, the type of sensors connected to the WPAN, the employed Bluetooth profile (SPP (serial port profile) or HDP (health device profile)), the use of other peripherals, such as a GPS receiver, the impact of the use of the Wi-Fi interface or the employed method to encode and forward the data that are collected from the sensors.

The remote control based smart home service robot system is capable of adjusting and controlling indoor household appliances and the like and providing families with convenient functions of household appliances control, automatic obstacle avoidance, and security guards against theft.

Abstract: The utility model discloses a serial port server. The ARM9 processor comprises at least one internet access circuit interface and at least one serial port circuit interface. The power supply circuit module is configured to be able to receive a power supply signal, so that the ARM9 processor works normally. The externally-connected network port of the serial port server can support the RJ45 interface manner and the USB interface manner, so that data can be uploaded through the outside WIFI and a 3G module. A serial port of the connection device can support connection of serial port equipment with the DB9 manner and the phoenix terminal interface manner. Due to the fact that interface manners of different serial port equipment of different industry spots are different, the serial port server with multiple interfaces can be applied in a wider range.

A UART serial port of the water meter single-chip microcomputer is connected with a former-level M_bus concentrator through the UART serial port communication circuit, the radio frequency card communication circuit is connected with a radio frequency IC card of a user in an induction mode and is connected with a corresponding signal end of the water meter single-chip microcomputer, and a control signal output end of the water meter single-chip microcomputer is connected with the control signal input end of a valve in the water meter base body through the executor. All kinds of meters are connected through M-buses, and therefore wiring and connection in energy-consuming intelligent management systems in residence communities, office spaces and the like are greatly simplified. The water meter has the advantages of being simple in structure, low in manufacturing cost and high in reliability.

A network server may receive a serial communication from a first serially-connected device in a first location, wherein the first serially-connected device is assigned a first universally unique identifier (UUID), and wherein the serial communication includes a second (UUID) assigned to a second serially-connected device in a second location. A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium may contain instructions, when executed, cause one or more processors to obtain the (UUID), determine that the second (UUID) is assigned to the second serially-connected device, and create a virtual serial connection between the first and second serially-connected devices. The network server may transmit the serial communication to the second serially-connected device located in the second location. The serial communication causes the second serially-connected device to perform an operation.

Abstract: The invention discloses an intelligent parking detection system based on the wireless sensor network. The system comprises a plurality of detection nodes, an aggregation node, a server and a plurality of intelligent mobile terminals, wherein the detection nodes are distributed below parking positions and used for detecting the changes of magnetic fields of the parking positions to judge whether a vehicle is parked or not. The judgment result of the detection nodes is sent out in a wireless mode and is received by the aggregation node. The aggregation node analyzes content and sources of a data package, and uploads the content and the sources of the data package to the server through a USB serial port. The server displays, processes and counts the data, and provides a port for remote access. The intelligent mobile terminals have access to the server through the Internet, obtain the parking data and achieve the function for making an appointment of parking positions with the server.

Abstract: A magnetic tape guidance AGV (Automatic Guided Vehicle) central control system is composed of a PLC module, a magnetic guidance sensor, a landmark sensor, an angle potentiometer, a safety shield sensor, a direct-current motor speed regulator, a power supply module, a wireless communication module, and an upper computer. The magnetic guidance sensor, the landmark sensor, the angle potentiometer, and the safety shield sensor are all connected to the PLC module. The PLC module is composed of a PLC, an A/D converter, and a D/A converter. The PLC module is connected with a motor through the direct-current motor speed regulator. The wireless communication module comprises a wireless communication subsidiary module and a wireless communication primary module. The wireless communication subsidiary module is connected with the PLC module through an RS-485 serial port line. The wireless communication primary module is connected with the upper computer through an RS-232 serial port line. The beneficial effects of the utility model reside in that the PLC module is employed for shortening the production and development period of the magnetic tape guidance AGV control system and improving the reliability and stability of the magnetic tape guidance AGV control system; and the system is convenient to maintain and strong in scalability.

The device comprises a BMC (Baseboard Management Controller), an either-or switching chip, a serial port output switching press button and a DB9 serial port connector, wherein the input end of an LPC (Low Pin Count) decoding module of the BMC is connected with an LPC bus of a server chip group; the output end of the LPC decoding module outputs system serial port information; the output end of the LPC decoding module and the serial port output end of the BMC are respectively connected to two input ends of the either-or switching chip; the output end of the either-or switching chip is connected with the DB9 serial port connector; the serial port output switching press button is connected to the switching control end of the either-or switching chip; and the either-or switching chip is controlled to be switched between the two input ends through control signals. The server serial port output method and the server serial port output device have the advantages that the free switching between a system serial port and a BMC serial port for output can be realized only through the DB9 serial port connector; the requirements of development personnel on the system serial port and BMC serial port information are met; and the mainboard design is also simplified.

The multi-band data detector comprises a wireless data collection module, a data management and transmission module and a memorizer module. The wireless data collection module is composed of 21 radio frequency receiving modules which are independent in function, wherein each radio frequency receiving module is in charge of data collection of one channel so that collection of wireless data messages of 16 channels in the 2.4 GHz frequency band, 4 channels in the 780 MHz frequency band and 1 channel in the 433 MHz frequency band. The collected wireless data messages are transmitted to the data management module through serial ports. The data management module dispatches the channels to transmit the wireless data messages to an upper computer through the Ethernet. The memorizer module controls a serial port receiver to receive a serial bit stream from the radio frequency receiving module. The data messages with all the channels stamped with timestamps are cached in the total FIFO, and finally the processed data messages are uploaded to the upper computer through an internet access so that protocol analysis can be conducted.
