CONSTITUTION:A gaseous specific material contg. phosphine, arsine or diborane which is fed from a gas cylinder 1 and discharged from a semiconductor manufacturing factory or the like is brought into counterflow-contact with absorbing liquid in a spray tower and furthermore passed through a packed tower 3 packed with Rasching rings and discharged to the outside as clear gas via an adsorption tower 4. In this case, any one of a mixed soln. of FeCl3, NaClO and HCl, chlorine water, ClO2 water, a bleaching powder soln. and iodine water is used as the absorbing liquid. Phophine, arsine or diborane contained in the gaseous specific material is absorbed in the absorbing liquid and completely removed.
