TL;DR: In this paper, a transom is provided with a deflector plate having a curved surface that is lifted out of the water during high speed running of the boat and operatively deflects water downward to force the bow of a boat into the water.
Abstract: A power boat hull has an inner running surface with a central running surface and an outer running surface that flanks the inner running surface. The outer running surface forms a channel with concave curvature which extends from the bow to the stern. An improved channel is shaped so that pressure builds in the channel during turning of the boat to lock the hull to water throughout the turn. A transom is provided with a deflector plate having a curved surface that is lifted out of the water during high speed running of the boat and operatively deflects water downward to force the bow of the boat into the water during low speed running of the boat. The transom dimensions are altered to accommodate varying length boats.

TL;DR: A single-body transom hull includes reaction flaps extending along side platings of the hull in a direction from bow to stern over at least 10% or more of the length of the ship as discussed by the authors.
Abstract: A single-body transom type of hull includes reaction flaps extending along side platings of the hull in a direction from bow to stern over at least 10% or more of the length of the ship. Inner surfaces of the flaps, along with outer surfaces of the side platings, form structures having inversely U-shaped cross sections defining recesses of parabolic cross sections so that water may flow smoothly along the hull. The reaction flaps thus suppress the outward flow of spray from the hull and impart lateral stability to the hull even at high speeds.

TL;DR: The articulated support for mounting an outboard motor to the transom of a boat comprises a stationary support section secured to the boat's transom, and a movable support section to receive the outboard motors.
Abstract: The articulated support for mounting an outboard motor to the transom of a boat comprises a stationary support section secured to the boat's transom, and a movable support section to receive the outboard motor. A shorter arm has a proximate end connected to the stationary support section through a first pivot remote from the boat's transom, and a distal end connected to the movable support section through an upper pivot. A pair of longer arms have a proximate end connected to the stationary support section through a third pivot situated close to the transom of the boat, and a distal end connected to the movable support section through a lower pivot. A mechanism rotates the proximate and distal ends of the shorter and longer arms about the respective pivots in order to pivot the movable support section about the stationary support section. The first and third pivots are so positioned and spaced apart on the stationary support section, the upper and lower pivots are so positioned and spaced apart on the movable support section, and the lengths of the shorter and longer arms are so adjusted that the rotative axle of the outboard motor is horizontal in a lower position of the movable support section, and that the longer and shorter arms cross each other in an upper position of the movable support section to tilt the outboard motor forwardly.

TL;DR: In this paper, an exhaust muffler for mounting on the transom of a powerboat in association with the exhaust pipes which extend through transom is described, where the exhaust pipe is forced through the water filled passage into the expansion chamber and then exits through the respective exhaust port.
Abstract: An exhaust muffler for mounting on the transom of a powerboat in association with the exhaust pipes which extend through the transom. The muffler comprises a housing extending laterally across the stern of the boat and rearwardly from the transom to define an interior space. The housing has a floor located below the water line; opposed end walls; a front wall located adjacent to the transom with openings formed therein, through which exhaust gas can pass from the exhaust pipes; a rear wall having exhaust ports formed therein and a cover that encloses the interior space. Located within the enclosed space are muffler inserts secured to the floor and also to the front and rear walls. Each insert has a domed portion defining a muffling chamber that communicates with the respective exhaust pipe, and a second domed chamber defining an expansion chamber that communicates with the respective exhaust port located in the rear wall of the housing. The muffling chamber and the expansion chamber are in communication with one another through a passage located below the water line and defined by a portion of the insert and by the floor of the muffling chamber. Accordingly, exhaust gas introduced into the muffling chamber is forced through the water filled passage into the expansion chamber and then exits through the respective exhaust port.

TL;DR: In this paper, an improved propulsion system for inboard motor boats with planing-type hulls is provided for the purpose of providing a propeller that operates partially above the running water line during planing conditions.
Abstract: An improved propulsion system is provided for inboard motor boats with planing-type hulls. A straight propeller shaft is passed through the bottom of the hull at an angle shallow enough to present a portion of the propeller above the bottom of the hull aft of the transom thereby providing a propeller that operates partially above the running water line during planing conditions. The benefits of a planing-type hull and a surface-drive propulsion system is economically and efficiently combined in a new design for inboard motor boats. The improved design is inexpensive to manufacture, install and maintain.

Abstract: A support structure (14) for a biomagnetic measurement system (15) is housed in an external screening chamber (2) which has a torsionally rigid rectangular shell (5) of sheet aluminium reinforced on all sides by a welded lattice (not shown) of sectional aluminium. The shell (5) provides a stable location for the structure (14) on a concrete base (52) via the fastening assemblies (16,18) attached to the floor (6) and ceiling (8) respectively. Two fixed pillars (20) enable vertical movement of the biomagnetic head (15) via the sleeve guides (24) and rotatable (48) transom beam (26). Vertical (46) and radial (50) head (15) adjustment together with the scanning couch (34) mobility (38,40,42) provide complete flexibility of examination. USE/ADVANTAGE - Is a robust and stable installation which insulates measurement system from errors caused by vibration and mechanical distortion of support structure. Natural frequency of structure is high and effects of resonance are readily filtered out. Electromagnetic screening is completed by peripheral mu-metal screens.

TL;DR: In this article, a microswitch is put on the microswitch and the luminosity drive 15 transmits amplified luminosity drives signals to a luminous object 17, and when the light-receiver 33 of a detector 2 detects light 3 from the knob 1 through a lens 32, the output circuit transmits door-opening signals to the driving unit M and M drives the door D in the opening direction, basing on the door opening signal.
Abstract: PURPOSE:To unnecessitate wiring works and make this touch switch applicable in a broad installation site, by providing a luminous source emitting light at the door knob by turning on a switching means, a light-receiving means, and also an output means transmitting a door-opening signal on receipt of light at the transom of automatic door. CONSTITUTION:When one touches a knob 1, the microswitch 14 is put on and the luminosity drive 15 transmits amplified luminosity drive signals to a luminous object 17. The luminous object 17 emits light. Next, when the light-receiver 33 of a detector 2 detects light 3 from the knob 1 through a lens 32, the output circuit transmits door-opening signals to a driving unit M and the driving unit M drives the door D in the opening direction, basing on the door-opening signal. Both detector 2 and driving unit M are installed inside the transom part B. In this way, wiring works become unnecessary and the installation work can be facilitated and further, it can remove effects like radio wave noises or the like in the nearby place of installation site.
