Abstract: Paper web making machine is provided with a watermark forming cylinder which is partially lapped by an endless wire screen removing a wet web from the cylinder with the aid of a dehydrating suction cylinder for feeding the web to a secondary dehydrating press including an endless screen which covers the watermark on the web during the dehydration of the web. Machine is for making security paper webs with watermarks and security strips. Successive dehydration of the wet web on opposite sides permits increased rate of prodn. Control of fibre orientation at throat permits control of the web strength along both longitudinal and transverse axes.
