Journal ArticleDOI
Imatinib-resistant K562 cells are more sensitive to celecoxib, a selective COX-2 inhibitor: role of COX-2 and MDR-1.
TL;DR: Celecoxib, a COX-2 specific inhibitor, induces apoptosis by inhibiting COx-2 and down-regulating MDR-1 expression through Akt/p-Akt signaling pathway and indicates that the development of resistance in IR-K562 cells is COZ-2 dependent.
Journal ArticleDOI
Anti-leukemic effects of gallic acid on human leukemia K562 cells: downregulation of COX-2, inhibition of BCR/ABL kinase and NF-κB inactivation.

TL;DR: GA induced apoptosis in K562 cells involves death receptor and mitochondrial-mediated pathways by inhibiting BCR/ABL kinase, NF-κB activity and COX-2.
Journal ArticleDOI
Nrf2 Is Required for Optimal Alveolar-Macrophage-Mediated Apoptotic Neutrophil Clearance after Oxidant Injury
TL;DR: Results demonstrate that Nrf2 is required for optimal macrophage-mediated efferocytosis and that activating NRF2 may provide a physiological way to accelerate apoptotic cell clearance after oxidant injury and demonstrate that sustained neutrophilic lung inflammation in Nrf1-deficient mice after hyperoxia-induced lung injury in vivo is demonstrated.
