A compact single-feed multiband planar antenna configuration suitable for GPS, DCS, 2.4/5.8 GHz WLAN applications is presented. The antenna has dimensions 38/spl times/3/spl times/1.6 mm and offers good radiation and reflection characteristics in the above frequency bands. The antenna has a simple geometry and can be easily fed using a 50 /spl Omega/ coaxial probe.

The design and prototyping of a new double L-shaped patch antenna on substrate of available low cost polymer resin composite material is presented The designed microstrip line fed compact antenna consists of a planar double L-shaped slotted radiating patch, 16 mm thick substrate and ground plane The proposed small antenna was designed and analyzed using a finite-element method-based, commercially available, high frequency structure simulator, and fabricated on a printed circuit board The measured −10 dB return loss bandwidths were 220 MHz and 650 MHz at 485 GHz and 810 GHz center frequencies The corresponding symmetric and almost steady radiation patterns have peak gains of 76 dBi and 41 dBi, making the proposed antenna suitable for C and × band wireless applications, especially for WLANs, mobiles and satellites The radiation efficiency, input impedance and current distribution of the proposed antenna were also analyzed

Dual Band X Shape Microstrip Patch Antenna for Satellite Applications

The goal of this paper is to design a dual-band antenna for the integration of LTE-R 700MHz band along with 5G (3.5 GHz) band applications for future advanced railway communication. A design study of the dual-band antenna is proposed and discussed in detail. An ellipse-shaped ring patch is designed for the LTR-R 700-MHz band, and the 5G (3.5 GHz) band is added by keeping the circular patch in proximity to the feed line of the antenna to make it a stacked antenna configuration. Circular patches with varying dimensions are used to increase the bandwidth at 3.5-GHz band. The antenna has a size of 180mm×60mm and is fabricated on an FR4 substrate with dielectric constant 4.4 (tan δ = 0.025). The observed bandwidth is approximately 100 MHz and 500 MHz for each frequency band respectively.

A Dual-Band Antenna for LTE-R and 5G Lower Frequency Operations

A single probe feeding stacked microstrip antenna is presented to obtain dual-band circularly polarized (CP) characteristics using double layers of truncated square patches. The antenna operates at both the L1 and L2 frequencies of 1575 and 1227 MHz for the global positioning system (GPS). With the optimized design, the measured axial ratio (AR) bandwidths with the centre frequencies of L1 and L2 are both greater than 50 MHz, while the impedance characteristics within AR bandwidth satisfy the requirement of VSWR less than 2. At L1 and L2 frequencies, the AR measured is 0.7 dB and 0.3 dB, respectively.

A dual-band circularly polarized stacked microstrip antenna with single-fed for GPS applications

A planar dual-L antenna with a novel tuning technique is presented for an integrated GPS/PCS dual-band application. The tuning structure is made of a metal stub attached to one of the shorting plates of the dual-L, antenna, and thus facilitates the independent tuning for lower frequency bands. Simulation and measurements were performed and dual bands of 1565.19 MHz-1585.65 MHz and 1850 MHz-1990 MHz with a return loss better than -10 dB were achieved.
