Journal ArticleDOI

Carbonic anhydrase activators. Part 14. Syntheses of mono and bis pyridinium salt derivatives of 2-amino-5-(2-aminoethyl)- and 2-amino-5-(3-aminopropyl)-1,3,4-thiadiazole and their interaction with isozyme II

TL;DR: In this paper, a series of derivatives were investigated for their ability to activate the enzyme carbonic anhydrase (CA) via a mechanism involving the shuttling of protons between the enzyme active site and the environment.
Journal ArticleDOI

Carbonic Anhydrase Inhibitors. V: Pyrylium Salts in the Synthesis of Isozyme-Specific Inhibitors

TL;DR: The new compounds, putative inhibitors of membrane-bound carbonic anhydrase, were tested for inhibitory action on the bovine red cell enzyme.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: In this paper, a series of derivatives were investigated for their ability to activate the enzyme carbonic anhydrase (CA) via a mechanism involving the shuttling of protons between the enzyme active site and the environment.
Journal ArticleDOI

Carbon-13 NMR studies of primary amines and their corresponding 2,4,6-trimethyl-pyridinium salts

TL;DR: The 13C NMR chemical shifts of 37 N-substituted 2,4,6-trimethylpyridinium (TMP) salts with alkyl, aralkyl, aryl and hetero-aryl Nsubstituents are reported and discussed in comparison with those of the corresponding primary amines RNH2 as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis of indolizines starting from pyrylium salts

TL;DR: In this article, the pyridinium acetaldehydes with alkyl substituents in the 2 and 6 positions were obtained from corresponding pyrylium salts, and cyclised in alkaline medium to new indolizines.
