Journal ArticleDOI
Nb3Sn material development in Russia
TL;DR: In this paper, the performance of NbTi and Nb 3 Sn superconductors has been investigated and the results of the ITER Model Coil Program have shown a degradation of the critical current of large cable-in-conduit conductors (CICC) built with Nb3 Sn strands.
Journal ArticleDOI
Test of the ITER TF insert and Central Solenoid Model Coil
Nicolai Martovetsky,Makoto Takayasu,Joseph Minervini,Takaaki Isono,Masayoshi Sugimoto,Takashi Kato,K. Kawano,Norikiyo Koizumi,Hideo Nakajima,Yoshihiko Nunoya,Kiyoshi Okuno,Hirokazu Tsuji,M. Oshikiri,N. Mitchell,Y. Takahashi,S. Egorov,Igor Rodin,E. Zapretilina,Roberto Zanino,Laura Savoldi,K. Arai,Akira Ninomiya,A. Taran,A.E. Vorobieva,K. Mareev +24 more
TL;DR: An overview of main results of the testing - magnet critical parameters, joint performance, effect of cycles on performance, quench and someResults of the post-test analysis are presented.
Journal ArticleDOI
High strength, high conductivity Cu–Nb based conductors with nanoscaled microstructure
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the influence of the microstructure and crystallographic parameters on strength and conductivity properties of model microcomposite wires and conductors with cross-sections up to 26 mm 2.
Journal ArticleDOI
World-Wide Benchmarking of ITER ${\rm Nb}_{3}{\rm Sn}$ Strand Test Facilities
M. C. Jewell,T. Boutboul,L. Oberli,Fang Liu,Yu Wu,A. Vostner,Takaaki Isono,Y. Takahashi,Soo-Hyeon Park,A. K. Shikov,A.E. Vorobieva,Nicolai Martovetsky,Kazutaka Seo,Denis Bessette,Arnaud Devred +14 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a strand test facility benchmarking effort, which includes tests for critical current (Ic), n-index, hysteresis loss (Qhys), residual resistivity ratio (RRR), strand diameter, Cu fraction, twist pitch, twist direction, and metal plating thickness.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cu-Nb and Cu/stainless steel winding materials for high field pulsed magnets
V. Pantsyrnyi,A. K. Shikov,A.E. Vorobieva,N.E. Khlebova,I. Potapenko,A. Silaev,N A Beliakov,G.P. Vedernikov,I.N. Gubkin,N. I. Salunin,N.I. Kozlenkova,M. V. Polikarpova +11 more
TL;DR: In this article, two promising types of Cu/stainless steel (SS) macrocomposite and Cu-Nb microcompositionite winding wires for large scaled high field pulsed magnets are reviewed.
