Acute Posterior Multifocal Placoid Pigment Epitheliopathy

TL;DR: APMPPE is considered one of the “placoid diseases” together with serpiginous choroiditis (SC), relentless placoid chorioretinitis, and persistent placoid maculopathy due to the ” placoid” nature of the lesions and similarities on fluorescein angiography (FA) and indocyanine green ang iography (ICGA) findings.
Journal ArticleDOI

Retinal detachment after extracapsular cataract extraction with posterior chamber intraocular lens

TL;DR: The authors reviewed 3065 consecutive cases of extracapsular cataract extraction with posterior chamber lens implant (ECCE-PC IOL) and found the incidence of retinal detachment to be 1.4% overall and 1.7% in a group of eyes followed for at least 1 year.
Journal ArticleDOI

Cystoid macular edema associated with topically applied epinephrine in aphakic eyes.

TL;DR: A 69-year-old man with bilateral open-angle glaucoma and nonfiltering iridencleisis scars underwent combined cataract extraction and glAUcoma filtering operations in each eye and required intensive medical therapy including topically applied echothiophate iodide, epinephrine, and acetazolamide to control his glau coma.
Journal ArticleDOI

Immunohistologic studies on antigen-antibody reactions in the avascular cornea i. reactions in rabbits actively sensitized to foreign protein

TL;DR: Treatment of sensitized animals with nitrogen mustard showed that antigen-antibody interaction could injure the corneal stroma in the relative absence of polymorphonuclear leucocytes.
