An artery, vein, aneurysm, vascular malformation or arterial fistula is occluded through endovascular occlusion by the endovascular insertion of a platinum wire and/or tip into the vascular cavity. The vascular cavity is packed with the tip to obstruct blood flow or access of blood in the cavity such that the blood clots in the cavity and an occlusion if formed. The tip may be elongate and flexible so that it packs the cavity by being folded upon itself a multiple number of times, or may pack the cavity by virtue of a filamentary or fuzzy structure of the tip. The tip is then separated from the wire mechanically or by electrolytic separation of the tip from the wire. The wire and the microcatheter are thereafter removed leaving the tip embedded in the thrombus formed within the vascular cavity. Movement of wire in the microcatheter is more easily tracked by providing a radioopaque proximal marker on the microcatheter and a corresponding indicator marker on the wire. Electrothrombosis is facilitate by placing the ground electrode on the distal end of the microcatheter and flowing current between the microcatheter electrode and the tip.

Inulin and oligofructose belong to a class of carbohydrates known as fructans. The main sources of inulin and oligofructose that are used in the food industry are chicory and Jerusalem artichoke. Inulin and oligofructose are considered as functional food ingredients since they affect physiological and biochemical processes in rats and human beings, resulting in better health and reduction in the risk of many diseases. Experimental studies have shown their use as bifidogenic agents, stimulating the immune system of the body, decreasing the levels of pathogenic bacteria in the intestine, relieving constipation, decreasing the risk of osteoporosis by increasing mineral absorption, especially of calcium, reducing the risk of atherosclerosis by lowering the synthesis of triglycerides and fatty acids in the liver and decreasing their level in serum. These fructans modulate the hormonal level of insulin and glucagon, thereby regulating carbohydrate and lipid metabolism by lowering the blood glucose levels; they are also effective in lowering the blood urea and uric acid levels, thereby maintaining the nitrogen balance. Inulin and oligofructose also reduce the incidence of colon cancer. The biochemical basis of these beneficial effects of inulin and oligofructose have been discussed. Oligofructoses are non-cariogenic as they are not used byStreptococcus mutans to form acids and insoluble glucans that are the main culprits in dental caries. Because of the large number of health promoting functions of inulin and oligofructose, these have wide applications in various types of foods like confectionery, fruit preparations, milk desserts, yogurt and fresh cheese, baked goods, chocolate, ice cream and sauces. Inulin can also be used for the preparation of fructose syrups.

The herb Artemisia annua has been used for many centuries in Chinese traditional medicine as a treatment for fever and malaria. In 1971, Chinese chemists isolated from the leafy portions of the plant the substance responsible for its reputed medicinal action. This compound, called qinghaosu (QHS, artemisinin), is a sesquiterpene lactone that bears a peroxide grouping and, unlike most other antimalarials, lacks a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic ring system. The compound has been used successfully in several thousand malaria patients in China, including those with both chloroquine-sensitive and chloroquine-resistant strains of Plasmodium falciparum. Derivatives of QHS, such as dihydroqinghaosu, artemether, and the water-soluble sodium artesunate, appear to be more potent than QHS itself. Sodium artesunate acts rapidly in restoring to consciousness comatose patients with cerebral malaria. Thus QHS and its derivatives offer promise as a totally new class of antimalarials.

India is rich in the natural plant wealth, and the present communication documents the folk medicinal uses of forty tree species collected from different areas of the district. The study was done through field observation and consultations with Hakims, Vaidhyas, Tribal and the native people of the area.

The prokaryotes and eukaryotes are separated by roughly three billion years of evolution, when bacterial and eukaryote division is thought to have taken place. During this time there have been countless chances for the genes in two organisms to diverge by mutation, to change gene structure by gene fusion or fission and to acquire new genes for a function by horizontal transfer or functional displacement of one gene by another within a genome. In the present study we have compared & analyzed the metabolic pathways of A. thaliana & E.coli to understand the extant of conservation of enzymes in their metabolic pathways. Present study indicate that the A. thaliana, a flowering plant and E.col, a gram negative bacteria were found sharing significant similarity in their metabolic pathways.

A single-gene knockout (KO) mouse model for Usag-1, also known as Sclerostin domain containing 1 (SOSTDC1), ectodin, Wnt modulator in surface ectoderm (WISE), CCAAT/enhancer-binding protein beta (CEBPB), Sprouty homolog 2 (SPRY2), Sprouty homolog 3 (SPRY3), or Epiprofin (EPFN), has demonstrated that Usag1 inhibition is important for teeth regeneration in mice. Anti Usag1 method was done by other scientists outside India. Tideglusib when placed at damaged teeth, it increases WNT signaling by inhibiting GSK-3.It results into teeth repair .Suginami et al proposed USAG-1 as a promising drug target for teeth regeneration .They proposed anti-USAG-1 approach to induce teeth regeneration but it has been associated with many sideaffects. This study aims to provide a natural lead molecule as a therapeutic drug for teeth regeneration.

Cryptococcosis is a potentially life-threatening disease with neurological, cutaneous and ocular manifestations, usually affecting immunosuppressed individuals. An unusual case of cryptococcosis with iso- lated cutaneous and orbital masses, in a non-immunocompromised patient, is reported. Fine-needle aspiration cytology established a rapid definitive diagnosis. Prompt treatment with oral fluconazole resulted in complete reso- lution of the lesions. Introduction Cryptococcosis is an opportunistic systemic fungal infec- tion affecting predominantly immunosuppressed patients. It is caused by a saprophytic fungus Cryptococcus neoformans. The majority of cases present with central nervous system or pulmonary manifestations; 10-1 5% of cases present initially with cutaneous signs and symptoms which herald the onset of systemic mycosis.' It is rare to find cutaneous lesions without systemic involvement.' Isolated reports of orbital cryptococcosis arising from eth- moid osteomyelitis or sinusitis have been reported in the literat~re.~ A case of subcutaneous cryptococcosis with orbital involvement, in a non- immunocompromised patient, is reported. The clinical features, diagnosis and treatment of orbitocutaneous cryptococcosis will be highlighted. Case Report A 65-year-old woman presented with a painless swelling in the right temporal forehead with protrusion of the right eyeball of 6 months' duration. There was no history of fever, weight loss, anorexia or oral thrush. She was not on long-term steroids or immunosuppressants. The patient denied a history of intravenous drug use or blood transfusion prior to the presentation. She was not suffering from medical problems such as diabetes, tuberculosis or malignancy. She also denied any expo- sure to pigeon droppings or direct contact with animals.
