Average energy expended per ion pair in liquid xenon

TL;DR: In this article, the average energy per ion pair formed in liquid xenon by internal-conversion electrons was measured and the voltage pulses resulting from electron collection either in liquid Xenon or in a gaseous mixture of argon (95%) and methane (5%).
Journal ArticleDOI

Ionization yield in xenon-doped liquid argon

TL;DR: In this paper, it was found that the ionization yield in Xe-doped liquid Ar increases by 13% compared with that in pure Ar. This is explained by the energy transfer process like Penning ionization in the gas phase.
