Journal ArticleDOI
Dysplastic changes in prophylactically removed Fallopian tubes of women predisposed to developing ovarian cancer
Jurgen M.J. Piek,P. J. Van Diest,Ronald P. Zweemer,J W Jansen,Ria J.J. Poort-Keesom,Fred H. Menko,Johan J.P. Gille,A P M Jongsma,Gerard Pals,Peter Kenemans,R Verheijen +10 more
TL;DR: The Fallopian tubes of women predisposed to developing ovarian cancer frequently harbour dysplastic changes, accompanied by changes in cell‐cycle and apoptosis‐related proteins, indicating an increased risk of developing tubal cancer.
Journal ArticleDOI
Expression of differentiation and proliferation related proteins in epithelium of prophylactically removed ovaries from women with a hereditary female adnexal cancer predisposition.
Jurgen M.J. Piek,R Verheijen,Fred H. Menko,A P M Jongsma,Jitske Weegenaar,Johan J.P. Gille,Gerard Pals,P. Kenemans,P. J. Van Diest +8 more
TL;DR: The objective is to assess the expression of differentiation and proliferation related proteins within putative sites of origin of serous ovarian carcinoma, the ovarian surface epithelium and ovarian inclusion cyst epithellium.
Journal ArticleDOI
Molecular evidence for putative tumour suppressor genes on chromosome 13q specific to BRCA1 related ovarian and fallopian tube cancer
A P M Jongsma,Jurgen M.J. Piek,Ronald P. Zweemer,R Verheijen,J W T Klein Gebbinck,G. J. Van Kamp,Ian Jacobs,P. A. Shaw,P. J. Van Diest,P. Kenemans +9 more
TL;DR: Several loci on chromosome 13q show high frequencies of LOH in BRCA1 related ovarian and fallopian tube cancer, and may therefore harbour putative tumour suppressor genes involved in the carcinogenesis of this particular type of hereditary cancer.
