Silicon Carbide Reinforced Aluminium Metal Matrix Nano Composites-A Review

TL;DR: In this paper, the fabrication methods and mechanical properties of Al alloy/SiCp based metal matrix nano composites (Al-MMNCs) have been reviewed and the Scanning electron micrographs indicate that the nano SiCp reinforcing particles are uniformly distributed in the matrix alloy.
Journal ArticleDOI

Tribological Behaviour of Al6061–2SiC-xGr Hybrid Metal Matrix Nanocomposites Fabricated through Ultrasonically Assisted Stir Casting Technique

TL;DR: In this paper, the wear rate and coefficient of friction of hybrid nanocomposites reduced with the rise of nano Gr content up to a critical value and then increased with the increase of Gr nanoparticles.
Journal ArticleDOI

Two-body abrasive wear behaviour of AA6061-2SiC-2Gr hybrid nanocomposite fabricated through ultrasonically assisted stir casting

TL;DR: In this paper, the two-body abrasion wear rate of AA6061 aluminium alloy, AA 6061-2SiC nanocomposite, and AA60 61-2 SiC-2Gr hybrid nanocompositionite were studied using a pin on disc machine at various applied normal loads.
Journal ArticleDOI

Strengthening and Mechanical Properties of SiC and Graphite Reinforced Al6061 Hybrid Nanocomposites Processed Through Ultrasonically Assisted Casting Technique

TL;DR: In this paper, the performance of hybrid nanocomposites with graphite nano-reinforcements was evaluated using various strengthening mechanisms including porosity effect and graphite dual phase nanoparticles.
Journal ArticleDOI

Al/SiCNP and Al/SiCNP/X nanocomposites fabrication and properties: A review:

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors studied the properties of aluminium metal matrix composites with the addition of secondary reinforcements and showed that the added nano-size SiCNP reinforcements to aluminium-based matrix yields superior properties and good bonding characteristics between matrix and reinforcements of nanocomposites.
