A novel plithogenic TOPSIS- CRITIC model for sustainable supply chain risk management

Financial performance evaluation is very significant for manufacturing industries in a competitive environment to achieve investment goals, especially increasing revenue. Financial performance measures must be identified accurately, because the evaluation process reflects the effectiveness of a company. The purpose of this article is to present a plithogenic multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) model based on neutrosophic analytic hierarchy process (AHP), Vlse Kriterijumska Optimizacija Kompromisno Resenje (VIKOR) method, and Technique in Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) method. The financial performance in this study is measured by a set of financial ratios. To examine the proposed model, the top 10 steel companies in Egypt are evaluated based on specified financial ratios. According to steel manufacturing experts, the weight of the criteria is determined using AHP method. The company ranking is determined using VIKOR and TOPSIS comparatively. The results show that the obtained ranks of the companies by these methods are almost the same.

Supply chain sustainability has become one of the most attractive decision management topics. There are many articles that have focused on this field presenting many different points of view. This research is centred on the evaluation of supply chain sustainability based on two critical dimensions. The first is the importance of evaluation metrics based on economic, environmental and social aspects, and the second is the degree of difficulty of information gathering. This paper aims to increase the accuracy of the evaluation. The proposed method is a combination of quality function deployment (QFD) with plithogenic aggregation operations. The aggregation operation is applied to aggregate: Firstly, the decision maker’s opinions of requirements that are needed to evaluate the supply chain sustainability; secondly, the evaluation metrics based on the requirements; and lastly, the evaluation of information gathering difficulty. To validate the proposed model, this study presented a real world case study of Thailand’s sugar industry. The results showed the most preferred and the lowest preferred metrics in order to evaluate the sustainability of the supply chain strategy.

A Hybrid Plithogenic Decision-Making Approach with Quality Function Deployment for Selecting Supply Chain Sustainability Metrics

Plithogeny is the construction, development, and evolution of new entities from composition of contradictory (dissimilar) or non-contradictory multiple old entities. Using plithogenic aggregation operations may contribute to combining multiple opinions of decision-makers. The best-worst method (BWM) is an efficient multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) technique that is based on pairwise comparison with the minimum number of comparisons, and on identification of the consistency of these comparisons. In this paper, we propose a plithogenic model based on the BWM. The result of plithogenic aggregation operation is taken as input to the BWM. We present two real-world supply chain problems as case studies to test the proposed model; these problems are warehouse location and plant evaluation. The results show the weight of each criterion, in order to arrange them based on their importance.
