Journal ArticleDOI
CD4 and CD8 T-Lymphocyte Apoptosis Can Predict Radiation-Induced Late Toxicity: A Prospective Study in 399 Patients
Mahmut Ozsahin,Nigel E.A. Crompton,Sophie Gourgou,Andrew Kramar,L. Li,Yu-Quan Shi,Wendy Jeanneret Sozzi,Abderrahim Zouhair,René O. Mirimanoff,David Azria +9 more
TL;DR: Radiation-induced T-lymphocyte apoptosis could be used as a rapid screen for hypersensitive patients to radiotherapy and in future dose escalation studies, patients could be selected using the apoptosis assay.
Journal ArticleDOI
Outcomes and patterns of failure in solitary plasmacytoma: A multicenter Rare Cancer Network study of 258 patients
Mahmut Ozsahin,Richard W. Tsang,Philip Poortmans,Yazid Belkacemi,Michel Bolla,Fazilet Oner Dincbas,Christine Landmann,Bernard Castelain,Jeroen Buijsen,Jürgen Curschmann,Sidney P. Kadish,Anna Kowalczyk,Yavuz Anacak,Josef Hammer,Tan D. Nguyen,Gabriela Studer,Rachel A Cooper,Meric Sengoz,Luciano Scandolaro,Abderrahim Zouhair +19 more
TL;DR: Progression to MM remains the main problem, but patients with extramedullary SP had the best outcomes, especially when treated with moderate-dose RT, and Chemotherapy and/or novel therapies should be investigated for bone or bulky extrameastern SP.
Journal ArticleDOI
Radiation recall: a well recognized but neglected phenomenon.
David Azria,Nicolas Magné,Abderrahim Zouhair,Pierre Castadot,Stéphane Culine,Marc Ychou,Roger Stupp,Paul Van Houtte,J.-B. Dubois,Mahmut Ozsahin +9 more
TL;DR: The majority of the drugs commonly used in cancer therapy have been involved in the radiation recall phenomenon and a mixed non-specific inflammatory infiltrate seems to be the common histopathologic criteria in previous published reports.
Journal ArticleDOI
The epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) in head and neck cancer: its role and treatment implications
TL;DR: The EGFR is a prime target for new anticancer therapy in SCCHN, and other agents in development include small molecular tyrosine kinase inhibitors and antisense therapies.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prognostic Factors in Urothelial Renal Pelvis and Ureter Tumours: a Multicentre Rare Cancer Network Study
Mahmut Ozsahin,Abderrahim Zouhair,Salvador Villà,G. Storme,B. Chauvet,D. Taussky,D. Gouders,Gerhard Ries,P. Bontemps,Philippe Coucke,R.O. Mirimanoff +10 more
TL;DR: Multivariate analysis revealed that independent prognostic factors influencing outcome were pT-classification, the existence of residual tumour, and tumour localisation; and that a radical surgical attitude is mandatory; and the presence of tumour in the ureter is associated with a poorer prognosis.
