Journal ArticleDOI
Adsorption of methylene blue onto bamboo-based activated carbon: kinetics and equilibrium studies.
TL;DR: Two simplified kinetic models including pseudo-first-order and pseudo-second-order equation were selected to follow the adsorption processes of methylene blue and the kinetic parameters of this best-fit model were calculated and discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Adsorption of basic dye on high-surface-area activated carbon prepared from coconut husk: equilibrium, kinetic and thermodynamic studies.
TL;DR: Coconut husk-based activated carbon was shown to be a promising adsorbent for removal of methylene blue from aqueous solutions and was found to follow closely the pseudo-second-order kinetic model.
Journal ArticleDOI
Microalgae as a sustainable energy source for biodiesel production: a review
TL;DR: In this article, the main advantages of using microalgae for biodiesel production are described in comparison with other available feedstocks, primarily palm oil, in terms of food security and environmental impact compared to palm oil.
Journal ArticleDOI
Equilibrium and kinetic studies on basic dye adsorption by oil palm fibre activated carbon
TL;DR: In this paper, an abundant agricultural byproduct in Malaysia, was used to prepare activated carbon by physiochemical activation method, and the adsorption capacity was found to increase with increase in the three parameters studied.
Journal ArticleDOI
Adsorption of basic dye (methylene blue) onto activated carbon prepared from rattan sawdust
TL;DR: In this article, the results of the best-fit model of the Langmuir and Freundlich models of adsorption were calculated and the results are discussed and the dimensionless factor, R L revealed the favorable nature of the isotherm of the dye-activated carbon system.
