Inverted simulation of gravity plumes

TL;DR: In this paper, an experimental study was conducted to investigate the velocity characteristics of inclined gravity plumes with two slope angles, 20 and 40 degrees, and the velocity measurements were performed with Digital Particle Image Velocimetry through a proper matching of the refractive index of the effluent and the ambient water.
Journal ArticleDOI

Surface wave measurements with IoT image processing

TL;DR: In this article, two different approaches to perform temporal and spatial measurements of surface wave profile for experimental studies in transparent wave flumes were developed, based on image acquisition and processing with an Internet of Things (IoT) system consisting of three sets of GoPro camera cum Raspberry Pi connected wirelessly together in a local LAN.
Book ChapterDOI

An Experimental Study on Surface Wave Modulation Due to Viscoelastic Bottom

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors developed viscoelastic bottom layers of required rheological properties in the laboratory using a mixture of a polymer, polydimethylsiloxane with glycerol.
Journal ArticleDOI

A Framework for Survey Planning Using Portable Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (pUAVs) in Coastal Hydro-Environment

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors established a comprehensive framework for the planning of efficient UAV deployments in coastal areas, which was based on recent on-site survey experiences with a portable UAV that was carrying a heavyweight spectral sensor.
