Journal ArticleDOI
Contribution of VEGF polymorphisms to variation in VEGF serum levels in a healthy population
TL;DR: These results support the association of rs30 250202 and rs3025039, and specific VEGF haplotypes, with altered V EGF serum levels, although the exact functional mechanisms remain to be elucidated.
Journal ArticleDOI
FHA domains: Phosphopeptide binding and beyond
TL;DR: This review presents structural and biochemical work that has unveiled novel interaction interfaces on FHA domains and discusses how these non-canonical interactions modulate the recognition of phosphorylated and non-phosphorylated substrates, as well as protein oligomerization - events that collectively determine FHA function.
Journal ArticleDOI
Aggresome formation is regulated by RanBPM through an interaction with HDAC6.
TL;DR: It is shown that ionizing radiation (IR) promotes Ran-Binding Protein M (RanBPM) relocalization into discrete perinuclear foci where it co-localizes with aggresome components ubiquitin, dynein and HDAC6, suggesting that the RanBPM perin nuclear clusters correspond to aggresomes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Replication study of common variants in CDKAL1 and CDKN2A/2B genes associated with type 2 diabetes in Lebanese Arab population
TL;DR: It is found that CDKAL1 rs7754840 and rs7756992, but not CDKN2A/2B rs10811661, are associated with T2DM in Lebanese, and both were associated withT2DM under additive, dominant, and recessive models.
Journal ArticleDOI
Strong association of common variants in the IGF2BP2 gene with type 2 diabetes in Lebanese Arabs
Rita Nemr,Akram Echtay,Eman A. Dashti,Ahmad W. Almawi,A.S. Al-Busaidi,Sose H. Keleshian,Noha Irani-Hakime,Wassim Y. Almawi +7 more
TL;DR: It is validated that IGF2BP2 susceptibility variants rs4402960 and rs1470579 associate with T2DM in Lebanese Arabs.
