Real-Time Intracellular Temperature Imaging Using Lanthanide-Bearing Polymeric Micelles.

TL;DR: Two-dimensional thermal images recorded increasing the temperature of the cells culture medium between 296 and 304 K shows inhomogeneous intracellular temperature progressions up to ∼20 degrees and subcellular gradients of ∼5 degrees between the nucleolus and the rest of the cell, illustrating the thermogenic activity of the different organelles and highlighting the potential of this tool to study intrACEllular processes.

Luminescence spectroscopy of Eu3+ in Ca3Sc2Si3O12

TL;DR: In this article, the low temperature luminescence spectrum shows no measurable 5 D 0 → 7 F 0 band, in agreement with the location of the lanthanide dopant in a site of D 2 symmetry, i.e. with a Ca 2+ substitution.

Molecule-like Eu3+-dimers embedded in an extended system exhibit unique photoluminescence properties.

TL;DR: A molecular orbital model shows that the Eu (3+)-O-Eu(3+) dimers are energetically more stable than the individual metal ions and exhibit the unusually long lifetime of 10.29 ms (12 K).
