UVA-photoprotective potential of silymarin and silybin
Alena Rajnochová Svobodová,Eva Gabrielová,Loizos Michaelides,Pavel Kosina,Alena Ryšavá,Jitka Ulrichová,Bohumil Zálešák,Jitka Vostálová +7 more
TL;DR: Treatment with both SM and SB resulted in a reduction in UVA-stimulated ROS generation and SSB production, as well as in the prevention of GSH depletion, a decrease in the activation of caspase-3 and protein level of MMP-1.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of ultraviolet radiation on the Nrf2 signaling pathway in skin cells.
TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of UVB and UVA radiation on the Nrf2 signaling pathway in dermal fibroblasts and epidermal keratinocytes and melanocytes are summarized.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of UVA radiation on the Nrf2 signalling pathway in human skin cells.
Alena Ryšavá,Kateřina Čížková,Jana Franková,Lenka Roubalová,Jitka Ulrichová,Jitka Vostálová,Jiří Vrba,Bohumil Zálešák,Alena Rajnochová Svobodová +8 more
TL;DR: Evaluated the effect of UVA radiation on the Nrf2 pathway and oxidative stress related proteins in primary human dermal fibroblasts, epidermal keratinocytes (NHEK) and human keratinocyte cell line HaCaT, and showed the fastest NRF2 translocation was in UVA-irradiated Ha CaT, while in primary keratin cells the effects of radiation was minimal.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Phototoxic Potential of the Flavonoids, Taxifolin and Quercetin
Alena Rajnochová Svobodová,Alena Ryšavá,Michaela Psotová,Pavel Kosina,Bohumil Zálešák,Jitka Ulrichová,Jitka Vostálová +6 more
TL;DR: Quercetin showed a dose‐dependent photodegradation in aqueous and organic environments and a phototoxic effect on all used cells and its dihydro derivative, taxifolin, was found completely nonphototoxic and photostable.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of the flavonoids quercetin and taxifolin on UVA-induced damage to human primary skin keratinocytes and fibroblasts
Alena Rajnochová Svobodová,Alena Ryšavá,Kateřina Čížková,Lenka Roubalová,Jitka Ulrichová,Jiří Vrba,Bohumil Zálešák,Jitka Vostálová +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, the potential of quercetin and its structurally related flavonoid taxifolin (TA) to reduce UVA-caused damage to human primary dermal fibroblasts (NHDF) and epidermal keratinocytes (NHEK) obtained from identical donors was evaluated.
