Metabarriers with multi-mass locally resonating units for broad band Rayleigh waves attenuation

TL;DR: In this article, the authors demonstrate that the use of multi-mass resonators allows for enhanced performances of the metabarrier, in terms of the amount and bandwidth of ground motion attenuation, with a smaller array of resonators.
Journal ArticleDOI

Control of Love waves by resonant metasurfaces.

TL;DR: This work derives an original closed-form dispersion relation for the metasurface and reveals the possibility to control the Love waves dispersive properties by varying the resonators mechanical parameters.
Journal ArticleDOI

Hybridization of Guided Surface Acoustic Modes in Unconsolidated Granular Media by a Resonant Metasurface

TL;DR: In this article, the dynamics of an elastic metasurface in an unconsolidated granular medium, which presents an inhomogeneous stiffness profile, was studied and it was shown that the metasuran's resonance hybridizes the lowest-order SAW and down-converts all higher-order acoustic waves, preventing the surface wave delocalization seen in homogeneous media.
Journal ArticleDOI

Full Wavefield Analysis and Damage Imaging Through Compressive Sensing in Lamb Wave Inspections

TL;DR: The results show that the technique can be applied in a variety of structural components to reduce acquisition time and achieve high performance in defect detection and localization by removing up to 80% of the Nyquist sampling grid.
