Journal ArticleDOI
A contribution of image processing to the diagnosis of diabetic retinopathy-detection of exudates in color fundus images of the human retina
TL;DR: In the framework of computer assisted diagnosis of diabetic retinopathy, a new algorithm for detection of exudates is presented and discussed, which has been tested on a small image data base and compared with the performance of a human grader.
Journal ArticleDOI
Feedback on a publicly distributed image database: the messidor database
Etienne Decencière,Xiwei Zhang,Guy Cazuguel,Bruno Lay,Béatrice Cochener,Caroline Trone,Philippe Gain,John-Richard Ordóñez-Varela,Pascale Massin,Ali Erginay,Béatrice Charton,J.-C. Klein +11 more
TL;DR: The feedback on the Messidor database, after more than 6 years of diffusion, is analyzed and the real interest and benefit of the research community is not easy to quantify.
Journal ArticleDOI
Improved Automated Detection of Diabetic Retinopathy on a Publicly Available Dataset Through Integration of Deep Learning.
Michael D. Abràmoff,Michael D. Abràmoff,Yiyue Lou,Ali Erginay,Warren Clarida,Ryan Amelon,James C. Folk,Meindert Niemeijer +7 more
TL;DR: A deep-learning enhanced algorithm for the automated detection of DR, achieves significantly better performance than a previously reported, otherwise essentially identical, algorithm that does not employ deep learning.
Journal ArticleDOI
Macular hole formation: new data provided by optical coherence tomography.
TL;DR: In fellow eyes of eyes with macular holes posterior hyaloid detachment begins around the macula, but the hyaloids remains adherent to the foveolar center, indicating the action of anteroposterior forces.
Journal ArticleDOI
Intravitreal triamcinolone acetonide for diabetic diffuse macular edema: preliminary results of a prospective controlled trial.
Pascale Massin,F. Audren,Belkacem Haouchine,Ali Erginay,Jean-François Bergmann,R. Benosman,Charles Caulin,Alain Gaudric +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors evaluated the efficacy and safety of triamcinolone acetonide for refractory diffuse diabetic macular edema and showed that it effectively reduces macular thickness.
