Bregman,Francoise Combes,Megan Donahue,Alastair C. Edge,A. C. Fabian,Gary J. Ferland,Brian R. McNamara,Brian R. McNamara,Rupal Mittal,J. B. R. Oonk,Alice C. Quillen,Helen Russell,Jeremy S. Sanders,P. Salomé,G. M. Voit,R. J. Wilman,Michael W. Wise +25 more
TL;DR: In this article, Chandra X-ray and Herschel Far-Infrared (FIR) observations enable a multiwavelength study of active galactic nucleus (AGN) heating and ICM cooling in the brightest cluster galaxy (BCG) of Abell 2597 (z= 0.0821).
Journal ArticleDOI
A Wind-driven Warping Instability in Accretion Disks
TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that when a radially outflowing wind blows across a dense thin rotating disk, an initially flat disk is unstable to warping, and the growth rate is dependent on the lift generated by the wind and the phase lag between the pressure perturbation and the vertical displacement in the disk caused by drag.
Journal ArticleDOI
Multiphase signatures of active galactic nucleus feedback in Abell 2597

Salomé,G. M. Voit,R. J. Wilman,Michael W. Wise +25 more
TL;DR: In this paper, Chandra X-ray observations of the brightest cluster galaxy (BCG) in the cool core cluster Abell 2597 (z= 0.0821) reveal an extensive kpc-scale Xray cavity network as well as a 15kpc filament of soft-excess gas exhibiting strong spatial correlation with archival Very Large Array radio data.
Journal ArticleDOI
A comparison between Pa alpha and H alpha emission: The relation between HII region mean reddening, local gas density and metallicity
Alice C. Quillen,Mihoko Yukita +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors measured reddenings to HII regions in NGC 2903, NGC 1512, M51, M4449 and NGC 6946 from the Hubble Space Telescope Pa alpha and H alpha images.
Journal ArticleDOI
