TL;DR: Results of phylogenetic and molecular clock analyses show a single introduction of ZikV into the Americas, which is estimated to have occurred between May and December 2013, more than 12 months before the detection of ZIKV in Brazil.

Development of RT-qPCR and semi-nested RT-PCR assays for molecular diagnosis of hantavirus pulmonary syndrome.

TL;DR: The assays developed in this study were able to detect the four Brazilian Amazon hantaviruses with good specificity and sensitivity, and may become powerful tools in diagnostic, surveillance and research applications of these and possibly other hantviruses.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors developed a quantitative real-time RT-PCR (RT-qPCR) assay based on a duplex TaqMan protocol to distinguish broad-spectrum infections caused by wild-type yellow fever virus (YFV) strain from adverse events following immunization (AEFI) by 17DD strain during the vaccination campaign used to contain this outbreak.
